List Mgmt. NGA, Father son watch

Just looking at Connors stats in the reserves. Hes looking good. Kicks the ball as well. Maybe a late bloomer. Think he was tossing about between footy and soccer when he was 16. Maybe we can still get him
Made his debut today against PA. Looked very impressive. 22 disposals. 15 kicks, 7 handballs and 8 marks. Looks so much like his old man. Running style so smooth and his disposal was great.

Watching him today. Looks overweight.
To me he looks skinny but maybe that’s against the Vics and allies kids of last few weeks

Didn’t watch today , thought it was reserves but it’s 18s which isn’t as impressive

If he’s fat he could be better than I thought !

In any case if you don’t like him it’s going to be ok as can’t see us landing him , he will be after our 1st pick and we’ll before our 2nd pick

I think he ends up a player just wouldn't use a top 7 or so pick. Reserved for A graders.

Does Keeler project as a key forward at AFL level? A No 1 ruck?

A No 2 or 3 forward + 2nd ruck?
At the moment he’s playing like a mobile key forward against the elite of his own age

I’d prob say 2nd forward and 2nd ruck

I agree with 1990 - not top 7 level

probably the most consistent tall forward in the championships so far ( the vic Jefferson had 1 stand out game ) and has good improvement curve full stop from early season

The WA kid who probably played the game of the championships as a powerful mid in WA first game against metro hardly touched it today … had 1 kick to 3/4 time

Elijah Hewett

The metro game he played was like watching a skilful version of Dangerfield

Who did they play today ? Country?

Currently hold 5, 23, 77, 95, 113.
In reality only 5 and 23

Winnable games against Hawks, Pies at AO?, WCE in Perth?, Norf at AO and finish off with the Showdown, with Port out of finals contention you'd think. Win two or more and we could rise another couple of places.

So those two picks are it, in a draft dripping with desirable SA talent in the top 25.

This where we may need to be bold if we don't want our sputtering rebuild to go on forever. We should seriously look at trading out our first and second next year (some AFL rules about this would need to be worked around) if we have the possibility of securing another two of those talents this year.

Unfortunately we have no hope of getting Brisbane's first as they need more picks this year to pay for likely top 3 Ashcroft and later on Fletcher. But a team like Gold Coast who have a truck load of picks 8, 26, 32, 34 plus this year may find it tempting to defer a big draft haul until next year as they already have a heap of talented kids struggling to get games. Might even be able to swap 8 for our 2023 first?

Think outside the square is the way to go, leave no stone unturned

I'll be happy if we could jag a 2nd rounder for crouch and convert that to points to match any bid for michalanney. Then grab a top rated mid with our 1st and maybe will verral with our 2nd as it seems keeler will be long gone by then

It depends how many picks and players we want to take. We will need to make some hard calls on players if we want to pick up 4 or 5 players. But maybe Gold Coast would trade, all 4 of there picks for our first next year

Doubt a 2nd round pick will be required for Verrall if he doesn't get the chance on the National stage in the remaining VM and WA games. I think he's more late/rookie at this point. Harry Barnett is probably around the 2nd round mark.
Hard to gauge where Verrall sits with recruiters due to his late start to the season coming off groin issues and missing games and his lack of exposure at the National level.

Wouldn't mind Keeler with a second, we might need to trade back in after the michalanney pick if he's rated better.

Definitely a KPF in time, like JUH patience will be required.
Worth noting how clean Isaac is below the knees for a tall gangly lad still growing into his body.

If we look at a tall with our 2nd, who would you really like to see is still there realistically in the early 20's we could go for?

Those late picks should be good enough for Michaelanny

Seeing him as a pick 30-50 at this stage

I've been a big fan of trading our future picks during the rebuild, preaching to the choir! 😄

I think all of the SA talls Phoenix Foster, Will Verrall and probably Tom Scully will be available with later picks possibly even rookie picks.

Can't see Lemmey even though he's had an indifferent season thus far (possibly due to a bad bout of Covid) slipping to our 2nd rounder, Barnett after Keeler the next likely SA tall to go IMO. Lemmey if he shines in the latter part of the year could still go top 10 though currently probably slipped back to a later 1st.

Given McAsey is far from a certain thing, Frampton's one on one defensive weakness, Worrell seemingly out of favour, Borlase not really tall or mobile enough I'd be going a KPD prospect late/rookie. A player that has really caught my eye this season is Oakleigh Charger overager intercepting KPD Jed Rule (10/062023) excellent overhead, dual sided kick and very athletic. Another that had little NAB League exposure until this year due to Victoria's past covid lockdowns and school footy commitments with Carey Grammar. Likely available later/rookie.Currently playing exceptional footy for the Chargers as an overager and on the Box Hill Hawks VFL list which probably means they're looking at him. Hawks have a habit of drafting players from their VFL team..
