Confirmed by Malcolm Ashwood (who does history at the redlegs) but from a conversation with Jim.

Maybe the games don't add up, but Jim should probably know if he's eligible.

Just while we are on port supporters, father sons and the AFL screwing over SA clubs, Fabians Francis played 33 games for Port immediately before they joined the AFL and then 88 for Port in the AFL. If he had played for a Vic side, JHF would have been a father son.
Malcolm Ashwood is pretty diligent in his research

The Definitive Rulebook (Rulebook being his nickname)
Yes, that is correct.
There was plenty of chatter about Michalanney at the game today and a couple of interesting conversations amongst Norwood officials but the general consensus was that he is eligible

Fabian's not his biological father so surely it wouldn't matter

AFL brought in a rule in about 2014 that they would allow adoptive father's if they spent the last 4? Years in their household or something like that to stop people from doing a blindside type of thing

If it's only 4 years we should be adopting elite kids

well I guess that's my bad for using common sense and not the AFL's preference of overcomplicated nonsense

Was he also one of the scoreboard attendees at norwood when they had the old manual scoreboard up the northern end?. If so he is one funny bugger. The abuse that used to come from that scoreboard was legendary
More than likely, always volunteer for anything very passionate man

What if a player had a father who played 100+ games for one club and a step-father who played 100 at another?

Would they both count?

The AFL have ridiculous rules so they sway them in favour of Vic clubs.

Pretty sure the kid has to be 14 or under when the step father comes on the scene, can't just adopt an elite 17 year old
