List Mgmt. NGA, Father son watch

Marc Murphy of course was living in a different state, his dad played for Fitzroy rather than Brisbane and had been promised to go 1.

Welsh lives in Adelaide and has been a longstanding member of the Crows Academy.

Apples and Oranges.

Also, in Murphy's draft year Brisbane had finished 11th, and had played in 4 of the previous 5 grand finals. Hardly as if they were in any significant state of disarray (relative to going to Carlton)

Settled down tiger. Was more of a general point that we might want to be a little better run club so we avoid the potential of a Marc Murphy "situation".

Murphy picking Carlton was one of the worst career decisions ever.

Not really.

It was either Carlton or Brisbane.

During his career - he played in 6 finals matches over 4 campaigns with Carlton and had 2 wins.

During that same time Brisbane played in 7 finals matches over 4 finals campaigns for 3 wins.

He was F***cked whoever he picked.

Let's hope there's no Vietnam War like situation where he's conscripted and unable to play then as well Tiger.

It's easy to admit your metaphor was senseless.

I mean it’s worked for them in the past …
Also stings that Brett Ebert was technically ineligible and with a change of rules Kane and Chad would have been available to us but happened after they were drafted and I know we hated them as Port Players but we would have loved them as Crows players.

LOL on the port board - they are trying really hard to come up with something that shows Michalanney is not F/S eligible for us. They know this kid will be a goodun and are spewing
We’re not trying to come up with something, we’ve noted he isn’t a father / son under the rules.

His dad played 211 games (off the top of my head that’s the figure I recall) as recognised by the sanfl, but the afl doesn’t recognise the cup games etc so those games will be removed from the sanfls 211 tally.

His dad obviously played more than 12 ineligible games across his career.

That rule ****up was a disaster and is still ****ing the Sa clubs over.

We all thought that too but it seems he has been cleared as eligible and we might finally end up with a high end f/s pick. Who would have thought jim would have been fathering children at the age he did eh😁

Where was he cleared as eligible? I don’t believe he has been and if you have a link to the afl saying otherwise feel free to post it.

I think you’re basing this off the same articles that assumed he was a father son and haven’t been corrected.

In any case, it will get cleared up eventually, but all evidence says he isn’t a eligible f/s. If you have a rational explanation for how he could be eligible with less than 200 games?

Cmon, the club have acknowledged he’s a father son and so have the afl journos. If you don’t think he’s not qualified this wouldn’t have been corrected.

The club

The 18-year-old is part of the 2022 Crows Academies NGA Squad and he has been given an insight into what it takes to be an AFL player.

As part of his involvement in the Crows Academies NGA Squad, Max worked with Adelaide players, coaches and staff and trained with the AFL squad during pre-season.

Speaking on the The Crows Show, Max, who also qualifies under the father-son rule for Adelaide, says the academy program has helped fast track his development.

another one

ADELAIDE father-son prospect Max Michalanney enhanced his draft standing with a strong performance in South Australia's win over the Allies on Sunday.

It would be odd for the club and the AFL's own website to be stating it if he was not

Those are all old assumptions, it hasn’t been addressed yet.

If he’s eligible, how? How has the 200 games rule (as the afl applies it) not applied in this case?

In any case, I’ve just brought it up here, disregard it if you want.
Lol the article is a couple of weeks ago. His eligibility was already questioned heavily months ago.

Maybe you just counted wrong.

Its almost inconceivable that the club and the AFL's own website would be touting it if it was not correct AND surely if it was not correct, the AFL themselves have had ample warning and time to question it.

I'd be thinking it is a lock he is F/S Eligible

The salty tears to come over here questioning something that has been laid to bed for months, are delicious.

Wasn't his eligibility confirmed by someone at Norwood and it was very close to not being eligible? I'm sure that was a post a while back
Confirmed by Malcolm Ashwood (who does history at the redlegs) but from a conversation with Jim.

Maybe the games don't add up, but Jim should probably know if he's eligible.

Just while we are on port supporters, father sons and the AFL screwing over SA clubs, Fabians Francis played 33 games for Port immediately before they joined the AFL and then 88 for Port in the AFL. If he had played for a Vic side, JHF would have been a father son.
