Is there any hope of being able to get this guy without finishing with the spoon next year? Rookie or something?

From what ive read he is something special. WH said something like he would have been picked before Kruzer... Anyone else heard anything?

Unfortunately next year Richmond will add Naitanui to their list to complement Cotchin this year :(

The kid is a human highlight reel :)

thats ultra poor.
maybe he'll just hate it at richmond/kangaroos and float over to the blues in 09?

Sounds like an exciting prospect in the ruck. I did notice him out jump Kreuzer several times in the ruck during Vic v WA in the championship. Kreuzers work around the ground and ability to push forward is exactly what the Blues need. I suspect Hampson will have no problem in the ruck against Naitanui in a few years time.....

i think he will end up at carlton - as you will finish last next year.

Round 1 will set thepace for your season - losing by 60 points to the True Tennants of the MCG.

Erm, I think Ackland and Cloke are expendable if you have a chance of getting Naitanui.

I was talking about Hampson, Aisake and Kruezer.

How many more can we fit into a premiership side?!?!

atm is too short for a true rucking position. Saw him literally jump over Kreuzer in the champs though

We won't fininsh high enough to get him and even if we did it would be a waste taking him with rucks we have. I'd much rather Rich or Hurley but we won't get them either as we will pick between 6 and 10

Don't we already have a highly talented, tall, athletic ruck of Fijian descent on our list? :)

So you want to pick up a most likely number #1 pick, who outplayed Kreuzer this year, on the rookie draft? Good luck with that. :o

Outplayed?

You mean out tapped don't you?

He got his hand to the ball first at the centre tap, but Kreuzer beat him around the ground IMO.

You should change your username to; FunnyStuff2008
TigersStuffedIn2008 would be a more appropriate username.

I don't mind our list of developing tall defenders when you see them lined up, so two mids/HFF wouldn't go astray since Stevens turns 28 next year and he has a pretty serious injury. Stevens might not recover or get injured again and our much vaunted 2008 midfield of Judd, Gibbs, Stevens, Murphy, etc. might not materialise.

Daniel Rich please.

At least we know that you won't get a gun WA ruck when you need another to take the load of Cox and the average Seaby. ;) :o

Even so, the point I was making was you won't be able to get him next year without the no. 1 pick in the draft.

we shouldnt overestimate our ruck stocks, ackland and cloke are not good enough, hampson/aisake/kruezer have played 2 afl games between them....but yes, the last 3 look promising

That was one point you made........and I don't disagree with that.

The OTHER point you made was quite clearly wrong - clearly trying to stir us over picking Kreuzer, and you should be big enough to admit that it was wrong rather than pretend you never said it.

Fair?:thumbsu:

Cloke was far from the worst ruck in the comp prior to injuring his shoulder, and if fit will work hard and provide a good contest.

You are right about the inexperience of the others, however, Hampson had 10 hitouts in about 30 mins of game time vs Roos, and McIntosh was the AA ruck, he then held his own (at worst) vs White in round 22.

We will have all year to decide, but I'd be shocked if we took another ruck early next season, and this kid, along with Rich will be long gone (probably both to Tiges with the PP and pick 2) by the time it comes to our pick.

Watch Adelaide slide for a season in an attempt to get leverage on Gibbs for the PSD.

Should wait until they screw up their season then re-sign him and watch them bleed.:thumbsu:

The Blues badly require a quality key position player e.g Centre half forward/Centre half back surely that must be a focus we have recruited so many mid sized players recently, other than Fevola we really do not have a quality key position player on our list.

So you don't rate either O'hAiplin, Austin, Thornton, Waite or Hartlett as KPP's?

Whoever we would target next year would only be as "quality" and as unproven as any of these.
