All Crywoldt had to do was not not flop it out for the camera.

All Gilbert had to do was not take the photo.

All Gilbert had to do was not keep the photo.

But just you go on blaming KD for St Failure's woes.

Riewoldt and Gilbert's actions are entirely legal. KD stole the pictures and posted them without consent, not to mention all the other stuff she allegedly has gotten up to. Gilbert and Riewoldt did nothing wrong at all.

I disagree with the OP as well in asserting that Riewoldt's stats would see a lesser known player dropped, in fact, I think the opposite. His reputation is clearly why he is marked so harshly. Having said that, he was disappointing tonight, and has had a very disappointing season. Hopefully he can get his body right, have a strong preseason and be back to his best next year.

Weird one. Has been a very good player but never really stood up in finals like true greats in Franklin, Ablett, Judd and co. People say KPFs struggle in finals, but Buddy averages 4 goals a game in finals and Tredrea was good in big games as well. That's what seperates the very good from the great.

In my humble opinion, time to probably hang up the boots. Was a player who relied on his athletic ability and it has deserted him since his knee problem.

Question - Have any of you heroes ever tried to kick with ligament damage in your knee? Cloke copped a knock on his last week and ineffective today while Riewoldt has had his all year.

lol, this gives me the shits. He was near BOG in their QF and PF in 09 and 10. More than handy in the first GF against Collingwood. It's just that he completely ****ed up his reputation with the Shaw smother which now, somehow, translates into him being a shocking finals player.

Still havnt seen anything from this bloke to warrant him being called a champion tbh.
His poor season this year shouldn't mean that you should forget how fantastic he has been for most of his career. He was arguably the best player in the comp 2 years ago - unfortunately injuries seem to have caught up with him. At his best Roo was unstoppable, and won us many games (including several BOGs in finals)

4 x All-Australian (1 captain)
1 x League MVP
5 x Club B & F (club record)

What?
BOG or close in both prelims against the dogs. Dominated against the pies in the 2009 qualifying. Very good against Geelong in the 2010 qualifying.

Nice to see people pot a person when he's down. Had a poor season, yet still kicked 35 goals, so you can hardly say he hasn't deserved his spot in the side.

For everyone who says he hasn't performed in finals. Please re-watch 2009 Qualifying Final and 2009 Prem, where he was BOG in both. And in the top 3 players for the 2010 Qualifying final. Then again in top 3 players in the 2010 Prelim, including coming back onto the ground after being KO'ed and helping the Saints over the line.

Has he been questionable in GF's? Sure. But, this decade we have rarely seen big forwards dominate Grand Finals. How'd Jono Brown do in his 3 Grand finals, or howd Buddy go in 2008?

5 B & F's, 4 AA, (including CHF captain), 2004 MVP, Rising Star.

He may not be the most liked bloke by opposition supporters, but to disrespect him and say he is not a champion, just because of his first poor season in his whole career, well it just shows your knowledge of football.

no way. He gets a free ride with the umpires compared to other forwards like Franklin, hall etc.

He is a Damn good player, but just because he can run all day and take marks doesn't make him a champ. Better goal kicking and dominate finals then yes he would be

Rubbish because he doesn't give away frees doesn't mean he gets a free ride. Lost count of the times defenders just block and hold him off the ball.

Mate this is big footy. Somehow even more reactionary then the media.

Judd has a poor game -> SPUD.
Riewoldt has a poor season -> GAWN.

Last season it was Cox copping it, now he has been clearly the best ruck in the AFL by some margin.

I know you're a massive Riewoldt fan and all that, but the fact remains when his team has needed him to kick a big goal, or do something special in a big game, he has failed more times than not.

It's not that one incident, but it's a long list of failures from a player who should have done more when his side needed him in big games.

Agree with this. Averaging 16.7 disposals, 7 marks and kicked 36 goals in 22 games. That's solid (although not spectacular) for a CHF. If his name was Chris Dawes it would be called a "career best year". It's also as good as/better than anything Cloke dished up pre 2011.

BOG or close in both prelims against the dogs. Dominated against the pies in the 2009 qualifying. Very good against Geelong in the 2010 qualifying.

Morris beat him for 3 qtrs the gets on top in be last while morris had a fractured leg and.got goals from bs frees. Lenny hayes is a champ before him.

Rubbish because he doesn't give away frees doesn't mean he gets a free ride. Lost count of the times defenders just block and hold him off the ball.

That happens to all forwards every game. Everyone knows he gets free more than other forwards.
Don't get me wrong he is very close to being a champ, just a few aspects he could have been better at.

Lets be honest, he doesn't have the heart to be considered a champion. He's a great player, but no way he's a champion. Champions carry their teams when they need a lift. Champions step it up another notch when the occasion calls for it.

Injuries aside, he fails to kick goals he should kick. That's a mental issue, not a physical one.

imo, Reiwoldt should hand over the captaincy. I think he places too much pressure on himself to lead by example, and I think it's really holding him back. Give the captaincy to Goddard, let Reiwoldt go about his business and focus on his own game. The captaincy is too big a burden for him imo
