Knowing cats as I do, it'd be more difficult to keep them out of any box-like structure than in it!

Except the dreaded cat carrier.
My cats would run when they saw it, haha. Knew it was vet time.

Love the enthusiasm. Down to all the sourpuss. They are usually the ones who get off first while the enthusiasts keep on supporting. Go Cats.
I reckon it's usually the opposite...Love the enthusiasm. Down to all the sourpuss. They are usually the ones who get off first while the enthusiasts keep on supporting. Go Cats.
Fred. You are a gentleman and i love your work. Hartman will most likely win the Norm Smith, but for the sake of those unschooled in his brilliance, i left him out. As to all the "put the lid on" folk. memo. Youre not on the coaching staff or playing roster. Enjoy this while you can. Maybe youre too young to remember the 80's but times like these are for celebrating and enjoying at 100%. Not robbing yourself of a once in a generation joy that comes with a team like this cos youre worried about what someone on an internet forum might think of you. In other words. Harden up and get on board. Cos the train is at full speed, destination MCG, arrival date, last Saturday in September. What? No Hartman?![]()

I said usually. I didn't say always. I remember when a lot of the negativge supporters on this board gave up in the second half of 2009. Saying we were done. They were wrong while the optomists never lost faith. Not really...
Im an enthusiast who gets up at 2 am every week to watch the game live regardless of the work commitments next day. Have done it for the last 6 years while the option has been available to me. Have hardly missed a game in that time. Little more arduous than a casual sat arvo at the G.
Now im also a reasonable enthusiast who whilst luving where we are also understands it is MAY and last time we got a cup in May was...... never....
Get excited all you want - and i'll join in to a point but dont call me one who "gets off first" while other people keep supporting just for being cautious.... in MAY...
in September, we'll share all the beers and loss of voice togteher you want
As always...
Go Catters
We won't be playing Essendon in Grand Final.
Perfectly put. And SHAME on whoever changed the thread title. Apologetic, pc, tree hugging hippy soft *&^%I said usually. I didn't say always. Also we are supporters. Its our job to be optmisitic and support the team and talk up our chances. The lid is for those within the club. Not for us.

Nine reasons we will win the flag! What was the original title?
Don't subscribe to the sack-cloth and ashes from of supporting. It's just disingenuous to suggest we are not placed for a significant chance of a flag in 2013 and to not be optimistic about our incredible depth!
7-0 in the AFL
11 players last night under 50 games
Beaten both 2012 GF
Significant and structural outs, with most expected to return for finals
Haven't played a home game yet
Players smashing down the door from the 2's
A history of consistency...does anyone really think we are gonna go through a major form-slump?
Of course we are always just a few MORE major injuries away from trouble and tree are some quality opponents to deal with but we are not equal Flag favorites for nothing
We.re ******* good!
Deal with it

respectfully:
im enjoying it while i can... the last 10 seasons have been a true gift as geelong supporters. every single one of us is thrilled at what our team is producing (in a 'rebuilding' period, whats more).
those of us saying 'lid' are not negative or unwilling to enjoy it - we are merely saying setting our expectations for something that is so far away is not necessary.
anyone who says the flag is ours is entitled to that opinion, but it isnt yet; anyone who says 'lid back on' is recognising that there are some mighty talented teams that look good early (we have a lot of youth - inconsistency could creep in), but it doesnt mean we are not enjoying it, or worried by the success.
everyone on this forum is loving what this team gives us game in, game out - some want to celebrate a sure thing now, others want top 4 at the end of H&A first.
i remember asking my dad in '08 how many people had played in a back-to-back, then coached one. that was about rd 17. ouch.
i also remember posting on this board late '09 about how great our team was, and that they wont let the flag go without a fight.
thats what we have, and its what we all enjoy in different ways. this team can go mighty close to the flag this year, and by rights we shouldnt be anywhere near it. but this team can also lose its way, as our young guys form fluctuates, and the rigours of top level football hit their body in the coming months.
we are all enjoying it - but lets celebrate flags after the fact, not before![]()
With all due respect. Im gonna enjoy every page of the book. Not just the chapter summations.
