We bowled like it was a test match and they batted like it was a T20. In the second innings they bowled like it was a T20 and we batted accordingly, hitting their predictable bowling where we pleased. Their whole style is so ****ing stupid.

Pitch wasn’t doing that much. Wasn’t inconsistent, seem wasnt flying around that much.. it was a good bowlers pitch but it definitely shouldnt have resulted like that. 2/200 from us on day 2 says as much. Batting was all round poop

Obviously having lived over here so long I have a bit of a soft spot for the Poms (apart from the arrogant upper middle class tossers). They have all been fearful that a test like this could happen because McCullum and Stokes are wedded to the macho idea of ‘imposing their style’. It was the Poms worst nightmare for it to be the first Ashes test.

Their team does have a habit of bouncing back hard after a disaster but they will not change how they play which makes it easy for us to set up. If England don’t win the next one it could unravel. Some in the dressing room (Root included) are rumoured to not particularly like being asked to play against their natural instincts. We could see a proper melt down and civil war from them if we are professional in Brisvegas.
