I have been a career supporter of Rutten even early when no-one knew a position the forward may play and called him slow

However, even though the last few years he has been a slow started ...he really looks to be laboring over the ground \\

Other clubs have identified that and are playing thru trucks opponents ......he may not last the season out

Truck has been hung out to dry by the players upfield.

Don't think he's an issue.

Didn't watch the ressies but stat wise, CEY looked like he played well. Bring him in.

In: CEY, Lyons, Knight/Battersby, McKernan (if ready)
Out: Petrenko (never again), Thompson (inj), Kerridge (inj.) Grigg (Inj?)

Knights not ready
Lyons won't play
Lynch isn't ready physically.

CEY should play. Will be very surprised if he isn't after yesterday and today.

And after Sando said he will play a lot for us this year.

Who else do you bring in though assuming we have those three injuries and Petrenko is dropped aside from maybe Smack if he's recovered? Cameron had an average game stat-wise, Martin has shown he is not up to it time and time again, Porps is cooked and I wouldn't bring Shaw back after one week. He needs a few to settle and work on disposal if he'll ever make it.

Maybe Battersby? His stats were pretty good.

I reckon Petrenko will get another chance. Thompson and Kerridge will come up and CEY will replace at the injured Grigg.

Petrenko has been given unlimited chances and he just keeps playing like shit. Don't reckon Thommo should play if he isn't going to give a meaningful contribution.

Now, what about the club. What do they they will do.

I just have a feeling that Porps will come back in
That would just set me off. Porps is finished and he's had one week in the ressies. Last year he would come in but let's see if things have changed this year. ****ing hope so.

How about some positional changes for once? We could try Shaw up front a little more, Petrenko as a defender? Just some creativity with the handling of some of our under-performers would be nice.

I think Hartigan needs to be played because lots of teams are playing with 2-3 big forwards or 2 forwards and a resting ruckman. We have no one else to put on them (Reilly or Henderson are no good one on one) and need to get some development into Hartigan for when Truck retires.

When Otten comes back he may take Hartigan's place. Otten, Hartigan, Talia and Rutten all in the back six would create a tar pit in the defensive 50.

Could Talia become a CHF?

3 games in it looks like truck will struggle to go around again. Spacklers right though, even in good nick it's half the backline taken up by non rebounders. We need hartigan to spend some time back there, but it's difficult to do it with truck still in the team. Talia to chf would only be temporary while trucks still around. Not sure if that's a good thing. Do you think he'd make a career at chf or would a dozen games there make him a better backman for next year. If it's neither, then I struggle to see the point.

Well, I don't know. All I know at the moment is; Rutten won't get dropped (and nether should he) and our forward line right now isn't very effective. In fact, it sucks. We need a change.

We still have 19 games to go, so thinking about next year is irrelevant at this stage.

If he plays the next 5 games at CHF before Tex comes back and looks good, we can keep there and team him with the big Texan. If not, we have lost nothing as we are losing right now. It's not like we are winning.

Trying something different when you are losing won't hurt.

That will also give Hartigan 5 or 6 games at CHB to establish himself as Rutten needs to be replaced sooner than latter and it's more than likely going to be next year.

We can then send Talia back to FB next year with Tex and JJ/smack/Johnson teaming up as a forward line if it doesn't work.

2015:

3 talls: Talia, Hartigan, Siggins
Rebounder: Henderson
2 smalls: from Brown, Laird, Jaensch, Battersby
7th defender/utility: CEY/Otten

Right now, Siggins is still a long way off AFL.

I understand 12 months is a long time in football development but he needs longer than that.
