Well the Club has known to Stretch the truth about player though they can have some truth to it but then can say that they are doing better then they really are.Club.

Maybe the club wants to unveil the kids here in Victoria in front of a sizeable and more "pie friendly" crowd?
Who knows?
Maybe it's as simple as they are not quite ready?
Maybe it's as simple as they might have a nigggle?
Must trust the coaching staff.
Still hanging to watch though!
GO PIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looked at Beams, if he was killing it in the Practise Matches then why is he not Playing?
You have to give the fringe players a chance to show their stuff ahead of recent draftees at this point in time.
Though they could've friggin played Macaffer, but he will get his chance.
Don't think we took many Fringe Players,
Those good point with Macaffer espically with Medders out, who will play medders role?
Was starting to think that but I was thinking they don't want to Travel to Alice Springs for the NAB Challange game for the Loser
Cook, Stanley, Reid, Wood, Cox, Johnson, Wellingham were all on the fringe of selection last year at times.
Add Leigh Brown and Corrie to that.
Tonight we see if Reid looks like a CHB, Dawes looks like a forward, Wellingham can find the footy, Wood has improved and so on.
Plenty of reasons to watch tonight.

I be Watching Tonight too.
Fair Enough but also have alot of 1st Teamers and Intresting to see that you said Dawes is not a Fringe Player.
I am looking forward to see the improvements in both Wood and Dawes![]()
It's also going to be quite warm this evening? Perhaps it's best to ease the young less conditioned players into it. Initially I was disappointed, but now i don't mind as much. I want to see us play next week, and let's face it, i reckon we're going to see a lot of these boys eventually.
Your post isn't even remotely close to being accurate. Malty has over the journey placed no importance on pre season matches and we get to see our youngsters on show almost always, and thats why we get bundled out first round most of the time. If we've gone in with a best team available policy then it's the first time in ages it's happened.
Not even remotely close? What about the bit where I talk about my own disappointment? And my lack of suprise? And the fact that I have made this comment before? They are all accurate.
In terms of MM not playing first years, McCarthy was overlooked when he had good training and intraclub form. As was Martin Clarke in the NAB cup game after getting 21 possies against the Swans the week before. Ben Reid didn't play in his first NAB cup game. I can't remember the 06 NAB Cup, but Brown was the only first year player in the 07 NAB Cup from his draft year, no first year player played in the 08 NAP cup (McCArthy, THoolen, Barham, Casey Leigh), and this year none will either. From the 05 class, I think Thomas was the only one (although I ma be wrong).
Dave, just because we lose, doesn't mean we weren't trying to win. MM often takes fringe players over first year players.
To follow up the above (and let me add I am as desperate as any to see what the 09 guys have got) it easy to say I believe so and so should be playing but a coach then has to say this means another so and so should be out.
If you think any of those 3 should be playing tell us who you would leave out and why
resti - Don't want him to get Injured AgainWhat you said was you were not suprised by Malthouse leaving out our recent draftees because he often does this. Your contention is bunk because all Malty had ever done is run out sides made up of youngsters and fringe players because winning these matches has always been a low priority, hence our poor record in past pre season competitions. Not even remotely close?
