some shockingly boring rugby scorelike games so far

Yeah, footy has gone to shit with all the flooding and congestion. The game used to be enthralling - not so much anymore. The rule-makers need to do something about it, and quick smart.

Saints don't want to kick a goal.

Worpel has only had a few touches, but broken about 6 tackles already. Hope that one doesn't bite us, though he may have headed back to Vic anyway.

Case in point Hawks and Saints. I'd almost rather watch A league. 27 to 13 almost half time ? wowy

I'm enjoying the Hawks & Saints, I much prefer low scoring games to shootouts. I'd much rather it be 8 points the difference like it is than say 50-75 at half time.

Tom Mitchell with a ridiculous 26 possessions with four minutes to go before half time.

Honestly? It's 2 points the difference now. If both teams had capitilised more on their opportunities the Hawks would be 4-5 goals up. I think it's good the way it's been.

You'll be happy to watch games finish 50 -66 Yawn

Over 100 point close games are the best :)

There are less of those.

I like low scoring scraps, as long as they're not snooze fests. No argument from me the GWS V Brisbane game was shite, although on paper that's probably one of the least watchable fixtures possible.

For me the scores are just reflecting the dull style of play right now, not as many big marks or exciting goals. Maybe its just me

inb4 Worpel tears thread

IDK if that's directed at me but I'm generally pretty positive re: recruitment. Just a general comment that he looks like a very good player and if he ends up a very good mid (and better than Ainsworth) then it's a fair comparison given Worpel was somewhat of an obvious alternative at the time.

Given how well Ainsworth seems to be rated internally I'm pretty optimistic he will be a decent player though.

I'd like to see some retrospective analysis on what GC missed out on in drafting Martin, Ah Chee and Garlett.

I've rabbitted on about this a bit in the Scott Clayton thread, but these are realllllly not the types you use first rounders on when your squad is extremely green and volatile.

Not directed at you at all - I wanted us to pick Worpel since mid-last year and have just been waiting for his debut before making that remark.

I do find tears threads kind of pointless and sadistic though

Prestia
Bennell
Ablett
O'Meara

Martin and Ah Chee would be very good 'cream' players if the Suns were able to keep their nucleus together.

Garlett couldn't be helped due to the illness with his brother.

Ah Chee was taken with pick #8: Daniel Rioli, Charlie Curnow, Wayne Milera all went within the next 7 picks. In terms of a different 'type', Weidemann, McKay, Doedee, Gresham and Burton all went before their next pick who was Fiorini.

Martin traded for pick #2: O'Rourke was taken with this pick. Macrae and Wines both went top ten that year (and Daniher who was F/S).

Garlett pick #15: Lukas Webb and Kyle Langford probably the best players taken between this and their next pick at #29 who was Touk Miller.
