So what's with this avatar being so popular all of sudden?

Replaced the blank one of people who don't have an avatar would be my guess.

Would be the female symbol for a user of the opposite sex.

Most likely happened after the last upgrade.

I wonder if Melbourne fans will still try to convince the world they did alright taking Watts :drunk::drunk::drunk:

In the end their own club didn't want him and are likely to accept something around pick 25 to 30 whilst he has two years on his contract.

There was still a few true believers last year but I think even they might have hit their limit now.

Can't wait to hear what Schwarz and Lyon think of him now.

It's a radical idea but I wonder...would it be a good strategy for GC and Brisbane to solely use their first few draft picks each year on Qld players?

They might not get the same level of talent with their picks but at least they would have a better chance at maintaining a consistent squad and could focus on developing that team rather than constantly having to expend energy on trying to retain "homesick" players.

It also might help develop the capacity of Qld junior footy, as the pathway to elite sport will become more achievable and more kids might start taking it seriously.

I don't know what is worse: having an uncompetitive side made up of local kids, or having an uncompetitive revolving door of highly rated interstate kids and an overworked list management team pushed into overdrive each year

The former is better in the long run - they will have stability in the squad plus they are bound to get exceptional home grown talent through their academies. Players will play better if they are playing for their (nearly) state side,

They already get exclusive access to their academy players though?

Eg Hipwood who has the makings of a star and is a local lad

Peggy just mad dusty posted a pic of her rack after she had a mad bender with dusty and swanny.

Kids these days...getting your phone out to take a picture instead of motor boating to try and get your medal back?

Last thing I would be reaching for is my phone. Enjoy the moment. Practice mindfulness and be in the present wherever you can and that is one present to be involved in.

They do have exclusive access but I'm sugggesting they exclusively pick those players rather than taking the risk in using early picks on players who most likely will not want to play for them.

They're stuck in a rut of being poorly performing teams, with poor facilities, in unattractive cities that have no football culture, and faced with the reality that the best players in the draft are going to be from Melbourne. Picking kids from SA and WA hasn't proven to be any more effective, as they become very obvious targets to teams from these states as soon as they show a bit.

It's almost like they should sell their inevitable top 5 picks to the AFL each year in return for a bunch of lower picks that they can use for local kids. The high pick then gets sold to the highest bidder or something like that.

I dunno, it just seems like the AFL needs to be creative with how they manage the Qld clubs - they set them up for expansion purposes, but other than a fluke with Brisbane in 2001-3, it seems very unlikely that either side will be successful at all in the long term
