Bias can easily be found when you're looking for it - Freo home game, West Australian commentator, home team coming back from a deficit and the commentator gets caught up and dragged along by the emotion in the crowd. It happens and what Basil did was exactly the same as eddie when Carlton came back at us last year

The real irony is that if you do a straw poll of Freo supporters 9/10 will tell you that Basil hates Freo

It happens and what Basil did was exactly the same as eddie when Carlton came back at us last year

The real irony is that if you do a straw poll of Freo supporters 9/10 will tell you that Basil hates Freo

Which is odd considering he is a member.

On Eddie, his was much much worse, was so cringeworthy and over the top, genunily thought he'd run out of steam before the game hit crunch time. I only got the 2nd half, but if he was like that all game I'm actually impressed he didn't die. Was the most unbelievable commentary I've ever heard.

I regularly watch Footy Classified (don't ask me why I punish myself so but I do). Most weeks Freo and West Coast barely rate a mention and their games are usually given a cursory mention at best which is odd since those two sides have occupied the top 2 spots on the ladder until this weekend with Freo actually being undefeated and 2 games clear.

Lo and behold both games this weekend were given a fair amount of air time focusing on how good the wins were by North and Richmond with barely a mention of their opponents. I really do wonder if they actually realise they have an audience outside of Victoria

What I also found interesting was how they specifically described the "Perth media" as complaining about Harveys campaigner act but when they referred to the commentary bias they didn't isolate as the Victorian media that were sooking about it

VFL classified would have to be one of the worst football shows on at the moment.

I think there's a difference between thinking basil is a crap commentator, which he is, and that he's biased which he isn't
