I'm a fan of the sub. If we go back to 4 on bench without a sub and a player gets injured, then you have 21 vs 22.

With the current system, if a player is injured and sub needs to be activated, it is still 21 v 21. Keep it I say.

Reduce interchange to 15 (possibly even 10) per quarter. I for one am sick of 36 players in one third of the ground.

No sub in 2015 according to 3AW...

Could see a resurgence of second rucks.

Was just gonna say...

No sub next year, but rotations must stay at 120 in 2015 as it was a two year introductory trial. Interesting. I don't mind the sub as it keeps things fair when there is an injury.

Hate to say it but I agree - I think the sub has been a good thing.

If they insist in removing it I dare say they'd have to severely limit rotations.

Yeah i think the Sub has been largely an effective measure at limiting the influence of an injury and the concussion sub was a nice little thing that has been implemented. I think the Sub as a purely Injury based change could work but would need some fine tuning, which i dont believe the AFL are capable of doing correctly.

The problem i have with the sub is more just from the romantic idea of a players debut. They sit on the bench for 3 quarters run around for a quarter get 3 kicks and thats it. First game should be a little more special than that, however thats just me being sentimental.

I think what we are all tired of is just hte constant changes to fix effects of other changes made with little forsight. In that new charter that was drawn up a while a go they should have a clause that the game can only be altered every 3 years or something. they can tinker with any possible rules in the pre season rounds however any change must be held off until that three years has passed. That way the game at least has 3 seasons to evolve and fans wont get too pissed off.

To be fair, up until about 2004, this is how all debuts were - just without the sub.

I like this. It will prevent knee-jerk reactionary rule changes, and give the game a chance to settle between rule changes so you can see the true impact of the rule as clubs adjust.

Umpire sums up Marc Murphy's season: "just because you throw your head back, doesn't mean it's a free kick".

Heard that, wasnt looking at the tv and just knew it would be him. They are targeting him tons, his team mates arent helping him

Only way the Blues are a chance to beat us if the scoreboard is close all game.

The only way they are a chance to beat us is if the scoreboard falls off and crushes our entire team in the pre-game.

They are a rabble and despite what the media say their recent form is bog average. The reason their games have been close is they drag other teams down to their level.
