A two week suspension sounds exceedingly soft for that sort of behaviour, too. Particularly considering it was towards a kid.

Yes, having read the original article it's an utter disgrace that the umpire wasn't banned for longer. I can completely understand both Che & his sons reaction.

Yep. Though Michael Long has been the one who has championed the league's crackdown on racism, I think a lot of people forget that Che was in the umpire's ear right next to Long after Monkhurt's racist remark in the 1995 Anzac Day draw. It'd be hurting him as much as anyone that after nearly 2 decades, AFL-funded officials are getting slapped with wet lettuce leaves for serious issues such as this.

Goodes didn't get weeks? The AFL should appeal that. MRP has completely missed the point of the Viney decision. It is clear that they don't understand the rule as it is expressed.

Goods hit was a few metres in front of me. Selwood shook it off quickly, it was clearly an accident in contesting the ball, and it wasn't that hard. Deservedly cleared.

Goodes was always going to cleared. Once the Appeals tribunal cleared Viney it changed the way head contact is adjudicated. There was nothing in the Goodes incident.
