On the Clarko thing, there should be no involvement from the AFL. It happened outside his workplace, therefore it is a civil/criminal matter.

If I hit a bloke at the pub, my work wouldn't be the one punishing me, I don't see how this is different.
Just like Ben Cousins wasn't sanctioned by the AFL for off field behaviour.....errrrr...wat

Would coaches be on a similar contract to players (ie. a 3-way club, afl, coach contract)? If that's the case, there would be a conduct clause.

Actually I'm fairly sure this must be the case, because coaches can be fined for certain comments so AFL must have certain rights over them as part of their contract.

The kids footy match incident was the worst. When you think about his position in the game. Role model is Al

Reacted to being banned like an absolute campaigner as well. Said some really dickish things to people that were just doing their job, let alone the 16 year old kid who was umpiring

The broader problem is the AFL have made Clarkson 'the face of the AFL' which was always fraught with danger, considering Clarkson's off-field persona.

Clarkson should never been placed in this position.

"Off-site", eh? We should look into that.

So Judd was abused and threatened by an alleged Essendon supporter - Posted a long time ago, that i was surprised that more of this hadn't occurred.

I think you would be silly to think it hasn't been occurring. We just have not had incidents on film. These days you cant do a thing without it being caught on camera. I think we will be seeing a few more incidents these days.

Steven Motlop wasn't drunk, just had a harmless can or two of beer with mates watching local footy 3 days before a match and his club suspended him for a match.

Clarkson punches a guy and gets? (And yes it was clearly a punch not a shove/push the 2nd contact)
Motlop broke team protocol, not the law. Perfect example of where team punishment is appropriate instead of legal punishment.

Unfortunately for Cousins, his off field antics were actually covered by the AFL code outside of play, therefore the AFL had no choice but to intervene.

Can't argue this. I guess it is one of the drawbacks of being constantly monitored by the media.

With all the stuff about Clarkson thought I'd pass on a story about David Rhys Jones.
My husband knows David through our local football club. Approx 20 years ago we were running a pub on the border and David was visiting the area with Jimmy Buckley, both David and Jimmy came into the pub one Saturday and were chatting to hubby. Throughout the couple of hours in the pub a couple of yokel heroes did their best to antagonise both David & Jimmy and neither fell into the trap. They were great.
Both David & Jimmy had onfield reputations for being hotheaded however that day they were very restrained

Skeleton crew at GC. Malceski out for 2, Day 4-6, Swallow 8-10. On top of Ablett, O'Meara, Hallahan...

Christ, it really has been the year from hell for them

It's a kick in.

Not in the goal square, but he hits the post.

It is the same kick in, it wouldn't be recorded as a point. In the video you linked the ball entered the field of play, that is why it was recorded as a point.

We had an incident similar to the OP's question with the behind post, Hansen went to kick it in from an out on the full near the behind post and he hit the behind post and the ball never came back into the field of play so he was instructed by the umpire to take the kick again.
