Whislt I agree, it's amazing that they're delisting 2 guys (Harvey and Dal Santo) who will likely be top 5 in the award named after an Essendon premiership captain/coach.

They could've staggered it in the same manner Geelong have, but they simply squeezed the list too hard for too long which has almost forced them to do this.

It's very hard on Harvey. I actually think he'll win the b&f.

But yeah, they probably should have started this last year.

Boomer going out like this will not go down well at Arden St. People are seriously pissed off. I think it's a real shame he's been forced out. Is playing great footy still. My personal belief is that he won't play elsewhere next year, but damn if he doesn't get some attractive offers over the next few months.

Personally I would assume that the club would give the boys the opportunity to announce their retirement and let them save face from what now appears to be delistings. They have been forced out but them them go out with dignity.... You stay classy Norf. Whilst I don't think it would happen, Boomer to Hawks would be a great match with Cyril & Poppy in the forward line and rotations through the guts.

No press conference, no celebration, no dignity to it.

From a list management perspective its probably the right call, but by god, do it with some class.

they've made the wrong call, but the real scandal will be if they don't get contract offers from other clubs. Harvey, if he desires*, and Dal Santo can still go and it'd be such classic AFL thinking if no-one else picks them up. The likes of Cross, Kelly and the guys GWS have hopefully set an example to the other clubs, but....

*also if Harvey feels he has to retire so he can be one club player, I swear to god......

Regardless of whether you think Harvey should have played another year or not, the way North has handled that was embarrassing. The players were only told 30 minutes before tweet went out and Harvey doesn't even get his own press conference. He gets included with other "champions" of North such as Michael Firrito and Nick Dal Santo. He didn't even get his own tweet!

Incredible. Harvey, Petrie and Firrito have combined to represent North Melbourne exclusively for more than 1000 games. Even Dal Santo is a 300-game player and still managed to represent North in twice as many games as Cooney has for Essendon. Yet Cooney got a better send-off from us than all of those players combined did from North. Go figure.
