Dont know if work mates talking shit but apparently Curnow is also gettable and we are pursuing hard

We’ve never cashed in on another team’s fire sale or implosion. About time we get in and improve our list with some proper guns

Not sure why they would trade him out i would think 6-7 others would go before him.

He is on some obscene contract till 2030 or something as well

Makes little sense to trade out a player like Curnow if there's serious talk of McKay moving on. And as you said, there's a plethora of lesser performing players who would be going before him.

Collingwood & Geelong just casually resting star players every single week, meanwhile we're like "We can't play a kid this week because we HAVE to get the win."
Yep. The Swans' development program is non existent. But even worse than that. They have a kid like Jesse who is clearly pure footballing class, and they still don't play him. I don't think there is a team in the AFL that he wouldn't have debuted with already. At least 3/4 of them he would have been in by now.

I don't know about that, but it is frustrating how precious we are about our "best 22" sometimes.

If managing a quality senior player and replacing him with a young debutant is the difference between winning and losing a match, then the battle's already been lost. It means your list/team isn't good enough.

That is why Collingwood and Geelong can rest players so frequently and be at the top of the ladder, while we are down in 12th, lamenting every minor forced change to our side each week.

They actually play their youth where as we don't reward form in the VFL with debuts except when the player in front of the youngster gets injured

Does anyone really think we can still get to the finals ? Four games back terrible percentage and we still have Brisbane Geelong in the run in.
Richmond have really fallen in a heap now , there was a few signs early on this year that they might be a bit further advanced in their rebuild but they look shot.

No maybe about a 1% chance to make the 8 its why i prefer we already look into 2026 but alas here we are.

The comparison between Richmond and Geelong is fascinating 5 years ago competing against each other for flags to being opposite ends of the ladder.

No way we make it. We aren't beating Brisbane or Geelong for a start

McKay is flakey, I’d hate to see him at the Swans - he’s the player who would get an injury 2 weeks b4 the finals and claim he was ‘pressured to play’ - even if he didn’t.

I don’t think he carries injuries well, I think he struggles under the burden of being a key position player and I'm not sure he enjoys footy.

He’s got a kit bag full of issues, physical and mental.

He's a lazy prick. I wouldn't want him in the forward line even if the only other choice was Richo, now I mean. He is like Cripps, tainted by mediocrity. He refuses to chase, won't lead up, wants to take the specky all the time and be the hero. He's an absolute plonker and I don't want that attitude anywhere near our footy club.

I'd go for McKay though. We have a really good record with players with depression or Bipolar. He has huge ability. Can you imagine McKay Amartey mix? Much better than the Curnow Amartey mix. For a start Curnow does not ruck so we would have to play either Pistol Pete or McLean. Ummm.

Charlie is a Real Charlie and not worth the tension that will come when he does his first Hissy Fit.

So you would rather a bastard who refuses to chase? Goodoh

Our problem is 2 fold:
1) We seem to draft more to develop then readiness to play.

2) They get crap development in our VFL.

Its like a career death cycle..........

We haven't even played Freo yet. We have to beat them. But the reality is we won't make finals. But what we can do is affect the structure of the Eight.

Yep we can do that for sure

I didn’t say that. I didn’t know this was a ‘McKay vs Curnod’ discussion?

My comment addressed McKay only. (So pull ya head in!😉)

And it’s not just about his psychological problems - I have grave reservations about his whole mental resilience, towards injuries, pressure and expectation.

As for Curnod - he's an arrogant flog but he can play when it’s delivered on a plate.
