1. How does Clint McKay get a run? Been in awful form.

Has a very good record for Australia, 57 wickets at an average 22 is surely fair enough to make the squad. Has only played the 2 matches this year for Victoria so hard to judge him on that.

Ryobi Cup:
Paine - 100 runs at 20
Haddin - 88 runs at 22

Big Bash:
Paine - 237 runs at 40
Haddin - 170 runs at 28

Given their respective ages as well, I don't see any possible reason that Haddin should be in ahead of Paine.

I thought we'd finally got rid of all the old cancers in the locker room. I can't believe they've let Haddin back in.
I could see Paine batting at number 4 in the test side if Watson continues to struggle or Cowan moves on for Watson to open again.

You're a clown if you think Paine is a test number 4. Stop clowning around.

Interested to hear what the spud man thinks of Paine?

As i said before, i think Australian cricket is full of spuds right now. There is next to no depth in the batting, keeping or spinning department but in saying that i see Spuddy Wade and Tim Spud on the same playing field. I think they are both more suited to the longer format of the game but just because i think Spud Wade is shite with the gloves, Paine has got to be a better option.

BF people pulling themselves off over people with good techniques that can't make runs... James Pattinson has a good technique too, let's throw him up to 4?

Techniques don't win test matches but a shit load of runs do.

Really? Has the technique. I could easily see by the end of next summer;

Warner
Watson
Hughes
Paine
Clarke
Kahwaja
Wade
Starc
Siddle
Lyon
Bird

Nice line up. I think at this moment Paine, Wade and Starc are debatable. Its gotta be one or the other with the keepers. I'd like to see Finch go over and have a good season in county cricket and start pushing for selection reagrdless of what he has done up to this point. With Starc, i would prefer him ahead of Johnson but i dont think he would get a game ahead of Cummins or Patinson if they were fully fit. Cummins and Bird i know only have the one test, but they arnt as streaky as Starc is.

Starc is a left hander and these selectors love leftys, he is a better left hander than Mitch because he can bring the ball back in to the right hand batters. Yeah, Finch wouldn't be far off but Paine is the pin up boy and they always seem to be gifted a few games

What with a first class average of 31? The same as Chris Hartley. There's an idea, maybe Hartley could bat at Number 4 for Australia.

The selectors have no idea what they are doing. Huge chance to boost crowds by playing Hussey which is probably in the best form of anyone, so what do they do, drop him out of the side .....idiots!

Number one player that people come to see in one day matches is Warner, so what do they do, rest him ........idiots!

Selectors say they have a policy to look to the future with selections, but they bring back Haddin instead of giving Paine a go ............. Idiots!

Bailey isnt even good enough to play in our second eleven, why would Starc and Johnson be picked above Siddle & Bird when Starc & Johnson are so expensive.........

Khwaja is a test player not a one day player!

A 12th year old kid could do a better job in picking a side, its very simple - you work out who the best 11 players are and you play them, its not hard!

Yep, Khawaja is a SHIELD player, not a ODD player ;)

Mate, surely it is quite obvious a poster who joined yesterday with the username 'Spud Patrol' is trolling?

Takes a few lions to see the daylight

Pattinson averages more than Cowan, Hughes, Watson and Kahwaja in Test cricket.

So glad that Daniel 'the most unlikeable man in Australia' Christian didn't make the squad. Hopefully his papers are stamped and he never gets another look-in.

What do you mean no good reason? I think i have a perfectly good reason, the fact that hes an absolute spud. In 87 ODI's, 2 century's is by no means outstanding. He lost form and lost it quickly, then stayed in the side for a long period after that happened. Everyone knows he's a nugget and a shit bloke to boot.
So much truth in this. He's a complete hack, he wouldn't dominate local club cricket anymore.
