Overall, not club by club.feher said:Do you mean club by club, or as a whole?
Yeah, but somebody might have a % figure.Pretty safe to say as whole:
1: vic
2: rest
Don't do a club by club, but you could be right about what criteria to use to determine where a player comes from. Is it where they were born? Is it where they played their first senior football as in RL? Was there a 2nd shooter?I personally don't feel like doing this task, perhaps if people did their own club and listed the numbers each have*, it would make things easier.

I suspect you're probably spot on there.Porthos said:I did this measure some years ago, but its probably changed.
Vic worked out to about 50%
SA to about 20%
WA to about 20%
Others to 10%
I think that WA has shrunk and `others' have increased since then though.
What I was getting at, is if we get 16 people to do it, it kills 2 birds one stone if required later, and makes it easier as not one person is burden with doing it all. After everyone has done their bit, add the totals together.littleduck said:Don't do a club by club, but you could be right about what criteria to use to determine where a player comes from. Yeah, but that can come later. Gotta get some basic facts established first.PAfolwr said:To make it interesting, it should be No of players from State divided by population.

Kennelly and the O'hAilpin brothers?
Good work there, but not necessarily because the dreaded draft largely shunts players all over the shop. In other words, the real chance of staying in your home state is far less than those figures.Porthos said:This is your percentage chance of being able to play AFL football in your home state, derived from where players currently are.
Victorians - 78.2%
Western Australians - 50.5%
South Australians - 41.7%
Queenslanders - 40.9%
