Spare a few moments to think about these people.....

John Terry - a boyhood United fan who decided to sign for Chelsea instead of us.

Michael Essien - another boyhood United fan who decided to join Chelsea instead of us.

Michael Ballack - Fergie wanted to sign him, but he decided to join Chelsea because he felt United were on the decline and that the Blues would give him the best chance of winning the Champions League

Jon Obi-Mikel - signed by United, but changed his mind when he saw the dollars that Chelsea were offering.

Park Ji Sung - Told by the manager. Your not better then John O Shea.

Add to that Peter Kenyon, an ex Utd CEO.

Feelings are very different to 99. That game it was disbelief and absolute joy with the emotions of the finish giving my wife to be (then) the opportunity to see me cry like a baby.

This was more satisfaction and relief (as well as the joy of winning). Feels like a job done and reward for a great season.

I agree it was more relief and satisfaction....at actually winning a shootout and for making sure Chelsea didnt win anything.

As soon as Ronaldo started that ridiculous stutter step I just had a feeling it would be saved. He has got to give that the arse. Honestly, just run up and hit it. You are screwing with your momentum, and keepers are not falling for it and moving to early.

He was always gonna miss.

a) because hes had the most incredible season ever seen and the whole irony thing

b) because that stupid stutter thing. Id love to see the stats but I reckon hes missed more penalties than made over the past few years.

John Terry, unlucky, a few would say that it could not have happened to a nicer bloke. Would have been better if it was Cashley.

My housemate and sister in laws partner is a pom and a massive QPR nut, absolutely hates Chelsea, Terry, Drogba etc. he was on the floor almost crying with joy when Terry missed. After he got in the face of Tevez for about 5 minutes, I have to say I felt the same.

And Drogba, Twat. He surely would have taken a penalty, could have changed things??

Cheating, whinging w***er. Nothing more needs to be said.

As a point of interest, why did Tevez get a yellow in all of that?? Surely not for playing the ball out?

So typical Chelsea. They did the same thing twice before Tevez did that. You wanna get involved in gamesmanship then bend over and take it when you get some back.

About as much chance as him admitting that United could have been 2-0 up before the Chelsea goal.

No shit.

If we had lost last night, that would've been the defining moment. Yes Chelsea hit the bar twice but Utd had many more clear cut chances that they should've made the most of.

As you said, we should've really been 2-0 up, no doubt about that. Chelsea looked lost when they were 1-0 down, they looked extremely vulnerable, they weren't sure how far they should be attacking etc, we had a number of great chances when we were up. That typical Chelsea goal (8 deflections before it ends up in the back of the net) helped them settle, they are extremely difficult to break down when they dont need to attack, even still we had some huge chances, John Terry's phenomenol clearance virtually off the line etc. Chelsea rarely broke us down, couple of good shots that went close, but didnt break us down. Joe Cole was absent, Malouda didn't do much nor did Kalou, meanwhile Ronaldo continued to create space for his team mates.

I was devastated when Lampards shot when in, when that happened i knew it would go to ET and who knows what can happen from there.

I completely disagreed with SAF subsitution of Giggs for Scholes. I woulda much preferred to put the energy of Anderson in midfield for Scholse and keep Hargreaves on the right. Anyway, who cares now, we're MOTHER ____ING CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE!!!!!!!!!!!

So Rooney was playing? ;)

Carvalho obviously removed some lint from his pocket during the shoot-out and he must have fallen out.

Apparently Drogba played as well, you wouldnt know it til he got himself sent off.

:rolleyes: nup, spare thought is gone

Ive only seen him miss 4 spot kicks for Utd from memory, he gets more than he misses comfortably

Yeh... he was the guy bitching and moaning everytime things didnt go his or Chelsea's way. Whenever there was a discussion point with the ref, there was Drogba pleading his case for justice.:D

Loved it!!:thumbsu:

Shinboners - great post.;) Fergie warned Ballack he would make him eat his words about United after Ballack said Chelsea were a bigger club  maybe in egos.

____ how good was Anderson and Nani's penalties? Those kids I thought deserved a round of applause for holding their nerve.

I agree as soon as Ronaldo walked up I thought ____ he is going to miss. Oh well, Terry's slip sealed their fate and our destiny. Giggs scored in the crucial games at crucial moments. A legend.

My MOTM - Vidic. When Chelsea were attacking at 150%, he was sweeping the box clean.

I must admit I was worried when Rooney went off, but meh.

Imagine being in Nani's boots. Miss the penalty and the other side wins. I don't know about you guys, but I just couldn't handle that sort of pressure.

I think it might have been Simon Hill this morning on radio who said that this was a bit of genius from Fergie. Anderson and Nani are both young and confident, and thus, believe they'll score. AS kids, they have no doubts in their minds. They just never looked like missing.
