Good Friday football would be good but don't call it the crucifixion cup , RCH cup would be better than some religious BS.
I think people were only suggesting that as a joke dude.

Fair enough my bad
I seriously would like to know how people cope in Summer with no football? Or how do you survive Monday-Thursday of every week in footy season?
Complaining of nothing to do on one day of the year? Anyway its your choice to do nothing and complain about a boring telethon. Get out of the house, do something or as someone else said, watch one of the other 100's of television stations not showing the telethon
So people can actually get on with their lives not having footy on 1 night? Amazing, so why do people care? It is what it is, I dont get why people get so worked up whingeing about it every single year, then when the good friday whingeing stops its time for the annual ANZAC day whinge...Normally I have a couple of mates around to watch the football if I do not go to it. Tonight I have friends over for a cards night. Just because I argue the principle of something does not mean I am at a loss as to what to do. Religious festivals are fun times in other countries and cultures. In the Phillipines, you could go and watch people being crucified for real, the same people volunteering year after year. Our religious holiday is such a solemn day.

There was plenty of opportunities to participate in religious activities today.
But a solemn day? That's the point of good Friday.
Well thank God I am neither.
I believe in the death but not the resurrection. I am not a believer, and atheists and agnostics are probably in the majority in this country. Why should my day be restricted by a belief to which I do not subscribe?

Just curious if you also support the annual take ANZAC day away from Collingwood push from the main board as well?
Yet I assume that you're still happy enough to observe the holiday on Good Friday. If so, hypocritical of you - atheists and agnostics should refuse to participate in the Good Friday holiday, and insist on working as normal. Same goes for Christmas Day.I believe in the death but not the resurrection. I am not a believer, and atheists and agnostics are probably in the majority in this country. Maybe, but my point is that I reckon atheists, agnostics et al probably don't even see any irony in them observing a Christian holiday like Good Friday or Christmas Day.....or using phrases such as "thank God I don't care about either!"That's just silly. What are you supposed to do? Hang out the front of work just on principle? I'm no monachist but i'll still have the day off for Lizzy's b'day.
