I know Pagan's philposophy about looking to the future and worrying only about the things you have control of. But this article makes it sound like he can't even bring himself to say "Kangarooland" anymore. Sheesh!!!

"We had a lot of success at the previous club I was at. You learn from everything you do and I'm sure there are things that we did very well and things that we could have done better. The longer you're involved in this caper, the better you get at it. Hopefully, I'll get better."

geez! I'm sure he has no problem saying where he coached at previously, those were just the words that happened to come out at the time...
he's moved on i think you should too

He's probably already realised the mistake he's made and now has some deep personal issues to work through. Like the Fonz saying 'sorry' I think it will be a few episodes yet till Denis can say the 'NM' word!

doesnt the budgie look "nice and cosy" with the media now that he is with carlton.

when he was at north, he looked like the grim reaper whenever he was interviewed !

I think the fonz had trouble with "I was Wrong". It's politicians who have trouble with 'sorry'

Disagree. Denis is very aware of what comes out of his mouth and has shown a strange lack of regard for the Roos since he left. There are good ways and bad ways of referring to your old club - maybe he should look at how Malthouse at least shows regard for the Weagles when he refers to them.

I have moved on, I'm really looking forward to next season under JYD. The smiley icon was there at the top just to say I dont take this too seriously... I just thought it was interesting that Pagan, who always chooses his words very carefully, chose not to call our club by its name....

I agree. I noticed this as well as soon as I read his interview. He is clearly still bitter with the club administration for not putting enough value on his importance to the club.
I think, although we have all moved on, it will be a very very sweet victory when we beat Carlton next time we play them...

i think he may be affraid in the back of his mind that the mistakes of his past, including the way he left, may come back to haunt him!

he did the right thing by us most of the time, but his behaviour in the last 12-18 months certainly raised some eyebrows.

he may have also had a date with reality - carlton list isnt exactly in great shape.

Time to move on, but the thing that really gets my goat is that Carlton can do nothing but improve from this years position, less injuries and an influx of new talent (first 2 picks, B French) will undoubtedly move them up the ladder and Pagan will be hailed a genious, add to this the fact we are now rebuilding and will no doubt struggle to repeat this years performance (no Pickett, Mick, Blakey and others) this will add further to his creditials.

I would love to see them (Carlton) repeat this years performance so Denis can see what kind of a club he has sold his soul to, but I am sure this will not be the case.

Come the end of the 2003 season he will smell like roses, where as we will (quite likely) just plain stink. I hope I am wrong but you would have to be brave to bet against the odds.

Yes agree, it sounds very poor and veeryyy unprofessional.

Surely he must feel some pride in the achievements at North?

Or is he feeling so guilty at his disloyalty. Something he preached over and over at North.

Captain,

You may well be right, but we should only judge our season in the context of where we want to go, and no one in their right mind will bother bringing up Carlton comparisons...

His comments are about as good as his tipping at the moment.

I think Deni$ is struggling to come up with some Carlton analogies...how do you go from Shinboners spirit to Silver Spoon spirit??

A fish outta water indeed!

Anyway, have I missed any articles on the JYD?? Where's Sheahan, Robinson, and Caro...on holiday? I saw Noddy a few weeks back near Young and jacksons so he's around.

The same position Mick Malthouse was in 3 years ago - left the Eagles with nothing and entered Collingwood with everything to gain, including a FAT pay cheque!

It's just history repeating, except at Carlton this time.
