75% of the population would agree that Dangerfield comes across as a self-centered, smart alec flog......even at catland its probably 50%.
What makes you think he is self centered? You'll be on an island with that opinion pal

The view widely shared on the Geelong board is that he had a stomach bug

That would surely hinder one of the great coffee drinkers of our day.

I wonder if he'd had decaf then, considering it was a night game?
Imagine thinking a bloke who’s played 300+ games, won a Brownlow and captained a club needs your permission to sip a latte. Dangerfield’s had a better career on caffeine than most players manage stone cold sober. If a coffee rattles you more than a finals loss, maybe stick to decaf. Critiquing his pre-game brew just proves you’ve run out of actual arguments.

Hey, I've already acknowledged Danger as one of the great coffee drinkers of our day and a polished media performer. Not sure there's much higher praise I can give.

Imagine losing sleep over a bloke drinking coffee before a game. Danger’s smashed more lattes and opponents than you’ve had wins in September. If that’s all you’ve got, you’re cooked.

I shouldn't drink coffee if I'm losing sleep, then 😞

This explains how he was moving, the lack of ground he covered and where Scott plonked him.

Sadly a risk the veterans like Dangerfield and Pendlebury risk in finals.

So Meow we’re able to explain a sub par performance by givingbit context, and older players can risk a risk?

So much has changed, yet so much is the same.

Danger was beaten into footballing irrelevance, a short week after this thread was penned.

You were more entertaining when you pretended to ignore me and still had daily meltdowns. If you want to converse again it'll only lead me to correcting your lies and false facts again.

Grandpa Danger destroyed Hawthorn in their most important game in a decade. Deal with it.

Hold on, I’ve never claimed Dangerfield as the goat, stop putting words in my mouth. All I’ve done is praise how good he’s been and for some reason you are trying to dismiss what he’s done.

I also never said Dangerfield is the only goal kicking machine in the league, literally said goal kicking midfielders are the biggest stars in the game and talked up how good Bont and Petracca were in 2021, they just were not on Danger’s 2017 level. That’s basically all I said and you’re not happy with that.

Did any of those players kick 45 goals in a year while playing midfield?

Have any of them kicked 9 goals in a year against top 4 teams from 7 games?

Heeney has played majority of his career as a forward. So did Robbie Gray. That’s why they kick a lot of goals.

Have any of those players ever led the league in contested possessions or clearances in any season?

Dangerfield was a clearance contested possession monster in the mould of Patrick Cripps, Clayton Oliver, Josh P Kennedy. These guys are guns in their own right, imagine them with a 40 goal season.

I don’t know why it’s so hard for you to acknowledge how good Dangerfield was.

2017 led the league in contested possessions and clearances while also kicking 45 goals. Absolute incredible season
Incredible season no doubt, probably drank lots of coffee too. Was still a bit worse than Dusty's season though

Splitting hairs between the 2 if you ask me. Was a great season having 2 stars at their peaks way above anyone else in the league.
