Small article in today's Age sport said that Paul will be nominating for this years draft. Can't find the article online though.

It is understood he returned to Australia in outstanding physical condition after training privately.
It is believed Collingwood had rated re-listing Medhurst a possibility for much of the year and that while the Magpies are unlikely bidders for his services now, at least two other clubs may be interested.
The Magpies, who regularly send players to Arizona for altitude training, may even have asked Medhurst to do a block of training at altitude as part of his training.
Two separate sources close to Medhurst said yesterday the forward was back in Australia and his physical condition was the equal of any stage in his career.
I'm not sure about that. He battled ankle injuries in 2010 and then got left out of the team. He had more to offer but didn't have a good run and Malthouse didn't give him the opportunities.Wasn't up to it anymore a year ago, wonder what has changed since then?
My guess is sfa.

I was and still am a Medhurst fan, loved him when he was up and about. His 2010 form just wasn't up to it though, he had completely lost his bite and virtually had no interest in earning back his spot through good VFL football.
I agree, Malthouse left him to languish down there for too long, but I don't think it would've made any difference. He wasn't in our best 22 come the back half of the year so it was irrelevant in the end.
The Sunday Times believes that new Magpies coach Nathan Buckley was keen to welcome Medhurst back to the fold, but Collingwood’s football department didn’t see a spot for him.
Don't mind another geriatric with a late pick if there are no sneaky nuts that Hine has an eagle eye one at that stage.
Next years draft sounds like the one to load up on in terms of youth. I also thought Medhurst had some back issues as well as the ankle in 2010.
