HBF is on holidays. I have a fair idea of who he will choose, but i am going to try to reach him and confirm, so it might be done by tonight.

I think we're doing the lot according to current list availabilities.

Nope, only three rounds. Brisbane as it currently stands has only three picks and we won't know the order of the picks until 17th November. We can wait. It will give us time to reflect on our effort.

(By PM) Carlton #35 - Chris Schmidt (West Adelaide, SA) - Medium Defender, 187cm, 78kg DOB 20/03/1989

Thought he would be long gone by now. We looked very closely at a couple of talls here, but Schmidt is too classy to pass on at #35. IMO was the second best player for SA in the under 18 championships behind Gibbs. Is bottom aged and a great reader of the play, is poised, rarely beaten man on man and is surprisingly strong and corageous for his slight frame as well as being strong overhead. Playing loose man in defence for SA, saw him put himself in the path of Hawkins lead and get crucnched then bounce straight up.....also knocked out Hansen doing a similar act at Skilled Stadium. Also in the champs he seemed to have an understanding with Gibbs and they frequently teamed up to bring the ball out of defence, so all the more reason to get him to Carlton at this pick. Is an AIS academy member and broke through to play SANFL seniors as a 17 y.o. By all reports his coach at wests was impressed with the few games he played before getting injured. IIRC he trained with Port during their last pre-season and was praised for how quickly he picked up the drills. Seems a very smart kid and very coachable and makes good decisions. Will probably start in a back pocket and gradually work his way up to be part of the midfield rotation in time. I'm a bit cautious to say it, but he reminds me a little of a less athletic version of Brett Burton. Not the first tiime i have heard that comparison. He has some development left to get to that level, however if he continues to develop he won't be far off that. Adds further class to the future Carlton midfield rotation. Also happy for him to room in with Gibbs and help make the SA boys feel at home :)

:thumbsu: The steal so far IMO.

Pick 36- Essendon - Jarryd Morton

One of my favourites, has a bit of the unknown about him as he could play either as an Andrew Embley type winger or even a KPP. He is the type Sheedy loves and could turn out to be one of the best players in this draft. Has perfomed well at Colts level during the year rotationg mainly between a hff and wing.

Will Edit post later and add more.

could someone post a lsit of everyone who has been drafted so far, would be much appreciated

Danzan, check the 2006 phantom draft - official results thread. I am updating that as we go and trying to put in each 'recruiters' write-ups as well as any stats i have at my disposal.

looks like u have gone to alot of work with that list so far, good job:thumbsu:

Agree with that TGR. I actually had him going top 20 in my recently updated Mock Draft (Which I will NOT be posting on BF by the way)

Seems like you're the only guy who rates him however. You took him in the practice draft and you took him 16 picks later in the official phantom draft. I wonder why that is because I've heard nothing but good things.

Gilly1972 rates him mate, even more than what I do I do believe.

I did take him in the Trial Run, but I was really after 2 mids all the time. Just didn't want to give away my hand so early. Very happy and quite surprised he was still available at #35.

Pick 37-

Jarrod Harbrow, Murray

Already picking up the likes of Gumbleton and Nathan Brown its time to take the best midfielder left in the draft, Hes quick, can play inside or out, good skills and likes to kick a goal, exactly what the kangaroos need
