Surely your not talking about the one paced midfielder we sent to to the tigers. He would be lucky to be in our best 12 players.
Another among the many who are overrated on this board.

I want battle but i think he will be gone so i will go with patrick kerr.

I bring in a rule so you can't pick 4 or 5 options....now I see you offering multiple options on the other thread, and whats more...you favour Perryman now?

I knew it....:D

I've got you down for Kerr here though.

Yeah i am going kerr.

We will put up a draft predictor thread soon where everyone can guess who we will draft for each pick-bit early yet.

What are the chances that we take Daniel Venables, limited due to foot injury, missed the combine.......it sounds almost too familiar

Dont know the guy but if fit is he a top 10 talent?

If yes, then Wells will look hard.

GO Catters

Hard to gauge imo..probably seems a bit later than that to me. Presents as Bartel/Caddy replacement can kick goals , strong body , has pace.
This what I posted Champs time..

VM 25 Danial Venables
... the more I see of this kid the more I think he could be a bolter. Watching some of the coverage , none of the Fox guys had him top 10 yet it wouldn't surprise me . He had already shown the he is a big moment player being involved in two games at the death. He is a rugged contested type to my eye yet in this game he got on the end of a CB hand pass , ran to 50 , and kicked the goal.

Knightmare says he is gone before 24 anyway.

P15. Daniel Venables (VIC)
Best position:
General forward
Height, weight: 186cm, 81kg
Recruited from: Western Jets
Plays like: Jack Crisp
Projected draft range: first round
Rated last month: 14
Rationale behind ranking/change of ranking: No TAC Cup games since July and limited games played over 2015/2016 make Venables difficult to place. Has all the attributes but numbers are not as high as many of the other top-end prospects.
Strengths:
- Hard tackler
- Explosive pace and breakaway speed from stoppages
- Scoreboard impact
- Finishing ability on the move
- Damaging ball user by hand and foot
- Strong mark overhead
- Contested-ball winning
Weaknesses:
- Can spend some time through the midfield and have an impact without having the numbers at this point to appear like a full-time midfielder
- Work rate
- Inconsistent from game to game
- Lacks four quarter impact
- Lack of exposed form due to injuries

Should go in the 10-20 Range, will end up a mdifielder if he can get his body right for an extended period of time. Would be a great get at 24.

Yep. Venables will surely be gone before our pick. He was BOG for his side in the All Stars match.

Apparently Hayward has been invited to the Draft ... that means someone estimates he has a chance of going top10

It can mean that but it doesn't always happen that way. I think Harley Balic was invited last year and he was drafted with pick 38.

Wouldn't mind Jonty Scharenberg

Slow and poor disposal do any of you people watch the championships and or video ?

Poor disposal? I've seen him play for Glenelg this year and I'd say his kicking is fine. Not elite, but not a weakness.

He's being talked about as a post-40 pick, well worth picking up at our third pick. I honestly think he'll play 200 games.

Edit - just checked and e went at 66% at the champs, average DE% was 68% but then you have to remember that Jonty is very much an inside mid, and a lot of his disposals would have been in congestion.

Wouldn't want to use pick 24 but I think he could be there at a later pick and be a good pickup there. I'm really starting to lean towards getting as many mids/hb/hf as possible In the draft. There just seems to be a lot of talent available of those types.

I've noticed you being critical of quite a few drafting posts without providing any of your own views. Off you go. Who do you like?

And then select 2 or 3 Talls in Rookie draft - 2 mature ? We definitely need a Ruck and Ruck / forward and KPF or we may be caught with our pants down

There's quite a few rucks in this draft that might end up being good players. Most will be available late in the ND, or in the rookie draft.

Names like Sean Darcy, Jeremy Goddard, Jordan Sweet, Peter Ladhams and Tony Olango.
