Richo63, i'd go cotchin and ottens as a long-term prospect, just because kreuzer as a second ruck isn't strong enough. however cotchin is injured atm...

just wondering who you guys think is the best mid under the 380k mark, so pretty much comparing:

judd vs boak vs knights vs cousins vs foley vs any others...

the other comparison is:

geary (bac) vs zieball (fwd) (because houlihan can move)

thanks
if money is not an issue get judd 100%
if ur going for best value get foley

Thanks Brent.

Also Sam Fisher vs Corey Enright?
I already have Goddard so atm I'm leaning towards Enright..

Kane Cornes and Aaron Sandilands vs Joel Selwood and David Hille?

And one that everyone is asking, Drummond vs Adcock.
Both have potential to score massive but IMO Drummond has more potential were as Adcock will be more safer. Or i could take both and get rid of Malceski?

All your thoughts would be great :thumbsu:

I would say Boak then Knights then Judd.

What do people think of:
Swan + Raines + 100k
or
Selwood + Mundy?

yeah when adcock was like 85 k and had a brilliant season, best value pick at the time. Who do u think will get a game 1st round out of Beams, Robinson and Swift. Havnt heard much about Swift who should i swap him for?

I reckon Swift will defo play rd 1. has been good for the Eagles in pre-season and isnt showing any signs of pain or troubles with his knees

Bryce Gibbs and Matthew Kruezer vs Trent Cotchin and Brad Ottens??

In reference to my earlier question who would be a wiser choice out of Trent Cotchin or Travis Tuck?

Ive decided to go with Ottens in the ruck and was going to have Cotchin, but i know he is injured so whats everyones opinions on Tuck...will he play much? will he continue his decent form into the season? or do i stick with cotchin and select an emergency that will score while he is out? and does anyone know how long he will be out?

Thoughts on Dyson, would you upgrade him to someone like Masten, about 30,000 more?
Ottens or McIntosh, currently got ottens however after looking at the 2007 season for Mcintosh, he may pick up his form again. Plus i save about 30,000 in which i can spend in other areas.

Travis cloke or Thomas, will probably stick with cloke.

Lastly, which other cheap players like ziebell could start in my forward line? and out of these options, who would you go for? currently have ziebell as one of my starting forwards.
Cheers.

This has been doing my head in.

Was hoping by writing abit on each would help make the deicision clearer. It didn't. I just can't make up my mind which of these players to field.

Hentschell's place in the 22 is secure. He has the greatest scoring potential. Soft-tissue injuries are a major concern, but has been improving by every game he plays, keeps impressing Craigy.

Ziebell's spot in the 22 is the most unclear of the three. Will more than likely be played RD 1 but isn't a certainty to retain his spot for future rounds. I think some may be forgetting how much of a magnet he is. Averaged 76 in the NAB Under 18's, scaled to 114, ranking him 2nd only behind M.Robinson. Ranked 6th in the TAC Cup with an average of 96 points from 9 games. A close second behind Hentschell for scoring capacity.

Yarran looks to have cemented his place in Carlton's 22 as rookie listed Garlett was not elevated. Has the lowest scoring potential of the three. He did average 65 points from 4 games in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championchips, scaled to 98 points per game which was good enough to have him ranked 13th overall. Has had a pretty poor pre-season, is only given chances due to Carlton's structure, previous performances and his potential.

reading each of those i think it'd be safer to go with a player who is guaranteed a spot in the main squad. Even if they don't score the best they have to go up in price and eventually can be traded off to make money. Good description of each player, will definitely help in my selection.
Any advice on my other decisions?

I would probably go for Adcock.

Waite + Yarran + 20k vs Mundy + Krakoeur

I think Waite will average 85 this year, so is the better keeper (Mundy 75-80). Yarran was drafted to fill a hole, so should play - especially considering Gartlett didnt get elevated. Krak however will score a lot better and will be the better cash cow.

Thoughts?

Joel Mcdonald or Adcock + 15k

This is a tough one, because i dont know how mcdonald will go this year!

For me, i'd say adcock plus the cash. More durable and with the vice-captaincy and gameplan change could see more of the ball and get back to the 07 numbers.

Who do you guys think will do better out of D.Thomas OR T.Cloke?
I can see upside for both, although not sure if either could reach GUN DT status?

Also

would you go 2nd ruckman Hille + Thomas/Cloke

OR; 2nd ruckman macintosh + Deledio/Richo (or suggest a better gun fwd?)

cheers guys/gals.

Why not go Lovett? good average in the NAB. Out of those two its Thomas, is def playing up the ground more this year. In saying that option two is prob better.
I guess the risk with Lovett is the feeling that the coach has less tolerance for him than everyone else on his list based on last years events. A wrong move or a drop in form or a poor attitude and he'll get yanked. No good having a player of his 340K price tag on your DT bench.

Yeah i see ya point, although you could look at it the other way... the fact he knows this is it, its make or break.

Raines & Grimes (Suban & Broughton)

or

Hill & Grimes + 20K (Suban & Broughton)

or NONe

Well im personally a big fan of having Cash on hand, so id go the 2nd one as i reckon all 3 of those players will score similarly.

My Q.

Gia (little unique and tad cheaper) vs Deledio - worth a punt?

Im also p!$$ed that i can't find room for Kornes or Swan, ive gone a unique pick of S. Tuck in my mids, with usual suspects of Gibbs, Corey and Ablett as my other premium mids.

Reckon its worth spending an extra 50k to upgrade Gibbs to Kornes? i want to keep Tuck just because he is unique - need those sort of players to get ahead of the pack. And i really don't think Gablett and Corey will fall THAT much, definitely not enough for me to upgrade my cash cows to them.

Malceski has more upside.
Goodes easily. McDonald was injured in a match a week or 2 ago.
BJ, although you can't go wrong with either IMO.
Agree with Malceski having more upside, although I also see him as a riskier proposition given his suspect knee and the fact he plays for the the clamp down Swans. At least with McLeod you know you can expect a solid return from him, his numbers over the last few years have been very consistent.

BJ is a bit more appealing because he plays for the Dogs who have a more attacking game plan than the Swans. Plus he's got the motor to keep running all day and he's a regular goal kicker. O'Keefe also has the tank and goal kicking track record, but my fear like Eski is that unfortunately he plays for the Swans.

Bartell Lockyer and 86000 forward rookie (not M Brown or Walker) or

Swan CCornes and Yarren,

any advice and or criticisms would be appreciated.

I'm going with Tuck. Considering Hawthorn's injury concerns, Crawford's retirement and Tuck's general awesomeness I should think he'll get a decent run. Capable of scoring big 100s. You could also consider Grigg and Mackay.

Thoughts on Dyson, would you upgrade him to someone like Masten, about 30,000 more?

Yes, I would upgrade him to just about anyone. It would be a shock if he did well this year, though I suppose it could happen.

Travis cloke or Thomas, will probably stick with cloke.

I've gone with Cloke also. He seemed pretty consistent in the NAB Cup; even did quite well against quality opposition. It's hard to see either of them being a keeper, though.

I have 1 more decision to make before I can relax and marvel at my side.

Would be great If I can get a few responses to help me out. :thumbsu:

T.Cloke v J.Roughead v D.Thomas

Not sure if it helps you, but IMO D. Thomas has the most potential this year, but is the riskiest. Thomas by all reports is going to be played where-ever he can get his hands on the ball. It is important for him to get into the game early and if that means putting him at HB, then MM has said he'll do this. Whether he comes of age this year, we just dont know.

Cloke, whilst having a good pre-season is going to get plenty of attention this year and with no Rocca, it aint going to be easy for him. Having said that he does look good.

Roughead, Well safe as houses i think. With Buddy around, Roughead will get 2nd defender and fly under the RADAR a little. Roughead may find himself floating back early in the year to cover for injuries to the Hawks defence which will increase his scoring potential also.

Tough one but safety Roughead and potential Thomas.

Hope helps, just my thoughts though:thumbsu:
