Of course he is. He has done more than Hawkins across the whole year, and every supporter who's watched every game and looks at performance alone would agree. So if Hawkins is JPOD must be IMO.

So, any idea why he was not named this week?

Either there will be a late change or Bomber is impersonating Ken Bruce for the week. I'm not sure which.

he leads the AFL for contested marks.

nuff zed

Is he still?

Thats pretty amazing considering he didn't play last week and hasn't had the best couple of games before that.

Definitely in our best 22 for finals.

Aside for Stevie J, he has been our next best tall forward easily. When up and going, more damaging than Mooney and Hawkins.

Me too.... i have a gut feeling chappy is the one:eek:. hope i am wrong and i also hope you guys tear them a new one... good luck cats:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Wouldn't surprise me. Chappy is so important to us for finals so if he's in any doubt he won't be risked.

I can't see any way that we'd go into this game without one of West or Pods. We can't rely on Ottens and Hawkins rotating through the ruck with then only one tall forward in Mooney.
It will either be Pods or West in at some stage in the next 24 hours.

IN: Blake:D

Yeah, or that :D

However, I think that is the remotest option, as I don't think they'd bring him straight back in after 1 game in the VFL having said that he needs to work out whether he wants to play the Geelong way or not. Seems that he's out for longer than just one.

In my opinion, Blake will not get back in, and they needed to get him out as soon as possible before the finals (so they didn't have another 2007 on their hands), because they intend on having Ottens/Hawkins rotating ruck and Mooney/Pods up forward for the finals.

I'm almost positive that will be the case... however totally prepared to be shown as wrong!

You've got more cats than me !!

If Pods needed a rest so badly, why not make it for two weeks, instead of just one? See Stevie J for evidence of result. ;)

Still hasn't got as many Cats as me!

Boris Hunt Sel Bartel Gazza JPOD Chappy, and I have no idea who JPOD's coming in for! Aaarrggh!

As for the Blake thing, yeah it's fair to say he's gone for a few weeks he couldn't come straight back this week given what the coaches have said. I still don't think his year is done though, whether Hawkins in particular, can physically handle the ruck (injuries etc) and if anything happens, while Blake won't play now, he'll certainly play in a GF ahead of Westy if Hawk or Otto are out.

Just heard Billy on MMM; he's confident either Corey, Chapman or possibly Bartel (most probably not him though) will be making way for Pods.

If Pods is anywhere near considerations for our best team in September then he has to play this weekend. Has not fired against a top side yet, and this is the last chance (you could argue the Dogs, but I don't rate them) to do so.

Can't take him into September having kicked a total of 3 goals from 3 games against Hawthorn, Pies, Saints - without giving him this chance to prove his worth, through goals or otherwise.

But yes, am fairly sure he will be playing.

If they trial the O/H ruck duo this match against the Pies, the result may well determine Blakes future. If the hold there own or in fact Hawkins has an impact around the ground , Blake will struggle to come back in. But as we know Hawkins has glass feet so , it will still be week by week.

As far as Pods goes , depending on matchups , Max Rookes availability and perhaps weather will determine if we go for the xtra tall.

In the forwardline - Hawkins and Mooney works , - Mooney and Ottens works; we know it does because we have done it before and without Blake we can use an extra mid which can be very handy late in games or if you cop an ingame injury.

For Pods , he must remind everyone what he can do and he must do it in a big game. On the other hand , his last couple of games he looked a bit off and a two week rest would make him as fresh as possible if they decide to go that way. If comes in this week as a late change , its a must for him to perform or he may find he is squeezed out.

If Corey is out again this week, what hope does he have getting the necessary fitness to have any impact this year? His tank has always been his strength; that is now lacking. Disposal by foot has always been dodgy at best, but tolerated as he got the ball 30x a game.

We are carrying-Ottens, Hawkins, Corey who are all underdone, and some want to add Rooke to that list. Crazy. Bartel is carrying an elbow that we know about, Ling is the slowest he's ever been, Enright is off his game, and we're supposed to be equal favourites against Pies this week!

Is there anything not ok about Pods? If not, let's see what he can do against the #1 team this week.
