has it been given up on? and will murphy definently be the guy ur looking at as a long term full forward?

someone in the know, please :)

Don't know about been given up on. He needs to bulk up a bit more in the short term as does Murphy.

Murphy looks the goods though and will be a star in a year ot two.

At a guess I would say that Justin & 211 will pinch hit there until Murphy comes on a bit more . He will probably be in a FP.

It's pretty simple, Polak failed there yet again and went back and performed excellently, Murphy did fairly well for a young player trying to play KPP.

I think the penny has dropped, for the most part, that's how they'll line up. Polak may pinch hit forward when we're short up there but until he plays the spot a little better or starts failing down back, Mcpharlin+Polak is just not worth giving up back there. Perhaps when we start dominating clearances we can afford to have our best marks forward, but I'd rather leave them there and let pav dominate and murphy develop for now.

Connolly abandoned his plans for Polak at FF 5 minutes into the first wizard cup game, despite reports he had been training there all preseason.

will murphey start the year at ff? looks a quality player, but how will he go this year?

he will probally play there but not our resident FF.

Connolly's forward structure is a lottery.

the only two places to play your lovechild(tounge in cheek) is in the ruck or on the bench, i don't care how great you think he is, his marking is not up to scratch infact the only contested mark i have ever seen him take was against digby morrel last year againsr carlton, that's why he should't play forward. kicking is alright though.

As someone has said before the thought of Polak and McPharlin floating in the backline owning anything thats kicked long is too good to give up.
I believe it was one of the reasons we went backwards last season, those two in combination down there in the air are unbeatable.

Well that certainly wouldn't be the Coach! given the time it took him to wake up that Justing Longmuir is a Ruckman and Pavlich is a CHF I don't think he is likely to work out where Polak should play.

Did some one Fart?

Yes and it's been bottled and for sale on e-bay and the bids are ridiculously high. Do yourself a favour and have a look. Better still put in a bid and if you win you can donate it to the Dockers to replace Connolly when he gets the chop.

Polak needs to be given the responsibility of a key position at some stage. If Murphy isn't ready for senior footy this year McPharlap should move forward allowing Polly to play centre half back.

Atleast we can afford to sack our coach midcontract if things go bad (which I don't think they will). Your financial predicament means Laidley's your coach till the end of 2007 rain, hail or shine.

On a contract note regarding your club, from what I've heard, you're just about to re-sign both Murphy and Mundy for a further 3 years through to 2008. Although both were apparently unsure and somewhat unwilling to put pen to paper initially, you've won out in the end and both are content with their deals. Look out for an announcement in the next few days/weeks.

Laidley's re appointment was warranted and with the approval of all the supporters unlike Connolly's. We don't re appoint our Coaches with a view to sacking them and the chances of things going bad at Kanga land pale into insignificance when compared to the administrative ineptitude at Dockerland.

The sad fact is that the Dockers are underachievers and the main reason why is your Coach!

I agree Sandilands will either be on the ball or on the bench, Longmuir will either be in the forward pocket or on the ball when Sandi is on the bench. Murphy should and will play full forward.
Polak will play back and pick up the extra tall, with Warrren or Thornton coming into the side will allow flexibility for Polak or MacPharlin to also go forward and create a mismatch.

Why was it warranted? Over the last 2 seasons your best 22 has been pretty good (Archer, Brown, Wells, Colbert, Grant, Harvey, Jones, Motlop, Rocca, Petrie, Simpson to name a few) but we've finished ahead of you both years. How do you know all the supporters approved, did you ring all 1,400 of them personally? If the approval of supporters was the deciding factor on whether or not a coach kept their job you'd have 8 coaches get the boot each year.

It's good to know that when we underachieve we're still capable of winning more games than your mob.
