Poor excuse from Mick

Getting a bit sick of Mick trying to deflect reasons for a loss and this last one was way off in my opinion - especially didn't like the indirect swipe at Bucks by blaming the forwards.

Yes they weren't great but hardly the reason for the loss! Mick's game plan which has been picked apart by the best and falls down when we aren't switched on 100% due to fatigue, injuries, travel etc is the ONLY reason we don't win games we expect to win.

We aren't blessed with great KPF's so what is crucial is quick and decisive delivery from our mids and half backs when running thru the midfield (something we have lacked against the best due to the no risk policy and slow ball movement)

The best and smartest forwards we have are the small/mid's ie leon, medders, dick, didak etc who, when missing mean anything less than perfect delivery is critical as Cloke, Dawes and Anthony are not clever enough to make space or create chances out of nothing unlike a fev or brown etc

In conclusion, the 3 KPF's can be played BUT the gameplan needs to be different ie quicker and better ball movement or we need to dominate clearances/inside 50's as the pressure in the fwd 50 is lacking. Ideally we need a balance ie 2 KPF's and 2 gun smalls of the medders/dick/leon/didak variety down there at all times as we wont always dominate possession given our gameplan and/or midfield.

End rant..well its not a full rant...just wish Mick would see things a bit clearer!

We still had 54 inside 50s sure the final ball was often poor, but trav, Dawes and Jack all should have been able to beat their much smaller opponent.

I digress though, wasn't a sledge at Buckley and saying it was or is is being intentionally inflammatory was a honest abd rather apt description of how our forwardline worked

Mick needs to stop blaming the forwards and have a good look at what goes on at the selection table and also have a plan B for once instead of letting the team get smashed, when sometimes one move can make all the difference.......but that's ok it's his record that looks like crap after 10 years, not mine

Forwards were shit, it's nothing to do with Buckley, and Jesus H. I'm sick of that line of thinking.

Incidentally, I thought the excuse from MM was when he said "Brisbane would have to play well to beat us and they did". Well, yes Mick, but we would also have to get out of neutral to beat the Lions, and we didn't, so what's up with that?

God I hope Buckley turns out to be a great coach or this board is going into meltdown.

MM is the Head Coach of the CFC. He is ultimately responsible for the performance of the team. It doesn't need to be stated ad nauseum, especially by himself as it is a well understood rule of thumb.

NB is the forwards coach at the CFC. He is a direct subordinate of MM, the Head Coach. If and when MM has a crack at our forward line, it is possible that it could include NB as the assistant coach directly responsible for this group of players.
This would happen with every assistant at every club in the land.

Does it mean that every time the forward line fails to function NB is to blame. Certainly not but he does have to wear some of it.

We need to understand that NB is currently an assistant coach at the CFC. No more, no less. He has a responsibility and will be held accountable by those in a position to do so.

Forwards were very poor i think there was 3 goals between our 3 key forwards, you cant expect to win with that.

I don't believe MM was taking a swipe at BUCKS, but even he was was so what.

People would have no issue if BUCKS coped a spray from the caoch if he was an assistant at another club - its part of his development and a lesson on the road to being a head coach.

But if MM did it, many here are far to precious and would smash MM.

MM should treat Bucks like he treats Neeld, Watters and Hudson he should not play favourites, nor should we expect him to.

Sure the forward line wasn't that great but it didn't help with some of the delivery into it by players up the ground. Players bombing away with no vision direct to the opposition.

The pressure in the centre corridor needs improvement also, but MM doesn't seem to be doing anything about it.

He was clearly blaming the loss on the forwards which we now know means 'dawes and anthony' with the changes this week.

Will be listening intently to the press conference this week if we lose to see what Mick comes up with...
