yep i like the sound of williams as our SPP replacement for the last 6 weeks

ive always liked him as a forward

Lai does some nice things but too often his chases are Rozee like for lack of true effort to use his speed. Some lazy traits in his game already.

Fair effort to lead by a point at QT, kicking with a slight breeze.

I didn't think we had a stand out player.

I like Rome Burgoyne the most. Just looks solid and composed. Spoilt once when he should have marked and it resulted in a goal to Sturt, but he's about as reliable a player as we have in this Magpies team.

A couple of the AFL listed guys who clearly will be delisted have had reasonable quarters: Anasta, Williams.

McEntee can't even touch the ball at this level.

Berry seemed to start on ball, and had four possessions in the first few minutes before falling completely out of it again.

Ramm lost a bad one-on-one contest in the goal square, but otherwise did some nice things. He's a very good overhead pack mark.

Lai did a couple of really good things, but then looked like he wasn't chasing when he should be.

MacKinley is all run but no finish or touch.

Anastosopoulos is busy trying to spread the play. Does basically what Berry and McEntee should. The problem with Anasa is he is small, indecisive and a bog average user.

I was most disappointed with Whitlock in that quarter. Was targeted 4-5 times and didn't give a yelp in the pack. Never looked like marking, and as soon as the ball hit the ground, it was Finalyson level chasing. Needs to start showing something.

Not a bad analogy for the type of player he seems to be. One dimensional. Neat when the ball is on his terms but so little else on display yet to suggest a complete skill-set.

Perfect example of why there are concerns over Berry. His inability to retain or release that footy to our advantage led to the turnover and goal. Mead-like lack of pace and ball protection.
