Paul Roos' press conference once again... he isn't really engaged as the coach of Melbourne. Positions himself something like an outside consultant. Doesn't assume responsibility or even identification with the team's performance. Really poor form.

Gee Carlton are awful.

Can't really take Essendon seriously yet because they start every season like this, but if they can actually go on with it this year they are a genuine contender.

Richmond fans I think should be worried by tonight's result. They only just slid over the line against Carlton, a result book ended by losses to the Suns and Bulldogs. Not sure their form line looks too good at the moment.

Why do people even read opposition boards if they always feel the need to get their unneeded 2 cents in?

I don't mind having a read of preview/review threads to get a feel for alternative moods and opinions on the extreme end of the spectrum, but yeah, bar a complete falsehood ("JADE SCHULTZ IS A SPUD OUR ANONYMOUS FRINGE DEFENDER SHOULD DESTROY HEM") you'll be chasing the dragon if you think you'll alter the predominant groupthink.

I'm really not keen on Melbourne being re-located. Their fans would lose out and the league would lose its whipping post/laughing stock. Let's get the GC and GWS bedded down before any more expansion.

I'm not keen on Melbourne being relocated because it's Melbourne. The central team of the heart of AFL. It would just seem silly to me. I'd rather see a team dissolved and have a proper Tasmanian team start than relocate one that doesn't have significant ties to the location already. Hawthorn you could get away with, but not Melbourne.

Agree on GWS/GC though. I want expansion, but let's not rush into it.

Paul Roos= massive over-rating as coach. Only in it for the money. Yet another fine mess Melbourne have got themselves into. Gee they were bad today.

It astounds me that anyone can think otherwise. He said so many times that he didn't want the job. He will try to help the club and he is certainly a good coach, but he didn't cure cancer and he won't stick around.

This stinks of Blight and St Kilda.

Blight at least seemed to show a bit of passion when the sacked him halfway through. Roos at the moment would probably be like "it's in the clubs best interest so I'll step aside and see where it goes from here"

The 19th Man is such a fail, in it's third year but still hasn't gained traction, their supporters hate it, but the Trigg/Smart Combination will continue to ram it down peoples throats. I'm almost starting to get worried now. They have been so diabolical that their shitness might even start getting traction in the media.

It could get close to the point where we'll have to ring in to 5AA pretending to be Cows supporters and blame the AFL for taking picks away for 'clerical' errors to get some of the heat of Triggy and Not So. 2014/2015, the start of footy at AO is our time to nail a whole slew of supporters who hated AAMI and aren't locked in to either side. We can't risk them getting their act together and putting competent people in during this critical time.

After looking at my Facebook the last day & a bit this is pretty true, I swear some of them enjoy us losing more then their team winning.

I know plenty know plenty who readily admit to it. South Australian Carlton fans are also big Port haters I notice.

Glad he's not playing against us this week, but how the hell can Daniel Merrett only cop 2 games for a deliberate strike, while Fyfe received the same sanction last week for something far less serious? MRP remains a joke!!!!!

Because the Fyfe one was introduced and needed to be enforced early.

Fyfe only got 1 week didnt he. Ended up being 2 because of carry over points, I think?

It's a well known fact that Adelaide have won three premierships (1997, 1998 and 2007)

I swear there was an incident identical to the Fyfe one early in Friday nights game. Mitchell and Mayne basically kissed and Mitchell had to leave the ground under the blood rule with a cut lip. The masochistic in me would like to know why that wasn't looked at.

3 games in is a bit soon for that. We saw in R1, when the game was there for the winning, that those guys' minds are fried. He's not taking an under-performing team and getting it going again, he's going to have to rebuild it.

It's the biggest flaw with the MRP, a bump is considered worse than an elbow. It is at the stage that if you are about to bump you may as well raise the elbow because there are less activation points for an elbow as compared to a bump. It's a ****ing stupid situation, thanks Adrian Anderson for your stupid ****ed up system.
