Big game for both sides. I would say both clubs know that these matches are usually decided on state lines and Melbourne are crap at AAMI anyway, whether it's Crows or Port. Thoughts on matchups, how the game will pan out?

Not really concerend about the result at this point, but rather the way we play and the passion of the side... Id like to see Surjan in and to play on a guy like Davey. Get the grew in and play him on Russel Robertson.. Get Eckers in and play him on Travis Johnstone... That sort of stuff...

Surjan will not be getting a game this week if form is used as any kind of indicator, has been very average indeed the last couple of weeks in the SANFL.

As a result expect Chocco to put him in the starting 18. ;)

Choco will drop a token youngster or two from the side, mutter words along the lines of 'if senior players don't perform, I maybe, if the planets align, and my mum says I can, I'll possibly, potentially drop one of them for a youngster with form, but then again I'm sure one more week will see them right'.

Then I expect Port to win this week, Choco to let the 'home town heros' off the hook and then we got flogged the following week at Geelong.

And no davey_magik this is not sarcasm. This is season 2005 from Choco. :(

Ditto what Andre said. Hail the return of the Footy Park front runners, bursting with laughter at all the barbs being thrown at them. What was it Choco said pre season about having the premiership in the back pocket ... ?

On the back of the embarrassing loss to Collingwood last Friday night and the shellacking they have been taking in the media the Port players will come out firing and may even win the game (provided they win their one winning quarter by enough). This will be followed by another p#ss poor performance against Geelong the following week.

Very sad and very disappointing but unfortunately this is Port Adelaide 2005 :(

I'm tipping Port, wouldn't be surprised if you came out and belted us. Should be a good game though. Wish I had Pay

Advertiser Back Page Monday:

"They're Back! Again! But Don't Get Excited!"

Port should win, but the Dees are a good side and coming off a loss to the Lions they will want to play well, but as previous posts suggest, they don't particularly play AAMI well. So Port will win.

I don't know if this is any indication or purely a coincidence but there was list of 26 players on a whiteboard in the Alberton Oval players room yesterday morning and the names of Deluca, Thurstans and Surjan were in that group with all the other regular names. I was there for a corporate motivation session and noticed this list behind John James and Arnie whilst they were talking to our group. Next to the Port Adelaide list were the names of the Melbourne players.

correct me if im wrong but havnt 2 or our last 3 meetings at AAMI been decided by less than 2 kicks?

Don't forget the Dees are our second biggest bogey side in the AFL, even more so than Collingwood. We will have to play some tough footy to win.

p.s. Straight up the guts. If I see Peter Burgoyne finessing early in the match again, I will throw up.

This is one week where comments like "we will thrash you by 10 goals" can be taken as being very much tongue in cheek.

After the loss to Collingwood it is really hard to have much faith in this playing group as they demonstrated that even when the season is on the line and they have everything in their favour, their minds are still not on the job.

When you see sides like Sydney and Freo at least fight out their games, and Port yet again fail to make any inroads into very manageable half-time and three quarter time deficits, it tells you how lacking in fight and spirit our guys can be.

Let the media write what they want to write.

M.Williams and his players needs to pull their heads in, stop trying to be mega-media-superstars and shut their gobs.

They need to BASH Melbourne and then BASH Geelong in fact, they need to hit every side they play with "true Port Adelaide tradition" and not the handbag type of footy we've been playing.

TOO CLEVER BY HALF.

Shut your gobs and let your aggression at the ball and the body do your talking.

If you do, you WILL win.

If you don't, RESIGN M.Williams and bring in someone who does Port Adelaide things instead of just talking about them.
