Positives:

1. We won....
2. Tim Ruffles, Jay van Berlo, Nick Suban
3. Broughton's smother at the end
4. Solomon's second half
5. Without Pavlich and Sandilands we are a 10 goal worse side, they are ELITE!
6. DeBoer for the last three quarters
7. Mundy's first 5 mins

Negatives:

1. Solomon's first half
2. DeBoer's first quarter
3. Dodd's disposal
4. Mundy's game after 5mins in....
5. Injuries (Ruffles, Duffield, Peake)
6. Peake's game...
7. WC didn't lose their PP

Its a strange feeling after this win... i just... dunno.. don't really care :o

+
Tim Ruffles courage
Nick Suban's disposal
Hayden Ballantyne's courage

-
Tim Ruffles knee
the whole standard of play

Can't quite warm to Ballantyne just yet, but willing to give him time.

Suban has been a revelation, I wouldn't take Warnock back...

Sandi dominated as expected and Tarrant must be AA.

Positives:

2. Tim Ruffles, Jay van Berlo, Nick Suban

Negatives:

3. Dodd's disposal

Ruffles, van Berlo and Suban were all good today, and were positives. But Stephen Hill was our best young player out there today, and he finished with 24 touches - a career high. It's almost like people don't bother praising him, because everybody knows how good he is.

I didn't think Dodd's disposal was that bad. And his disposal efficiency finished at 82% with just the 2 clangers. De Boer's disposal on the other hand, was not that flash today, 53% with 5 clangers. For me, that was the negative not Dodd.

I thought it was clancee's brilliant smother?

Hard to know apprently Broughton and Pearce are lookalikes - Matthew Campbell even said so.

How many times did they get these two mixed up.

Congrats on the win BTW, you guys were slightly less horrible.

When the foul/loud mouthed slime fan next to us who had pissed off everyone all day with his constant never ending stream of vile abuse at everything that happened on the field screamed at Naitanui "For Gods Sake, do something Naita" and Scott Thornton promptly outmarked him.
In the silence that followed I said "Gee you are really in trouble when Scotty Thornton outmarks you".
Even the Slime fans around us pissed themselves and the guy actually shut up for a few minutes.

He was great too

Broughton's smother - loved it how Solly ran up to him and hugged him and ruffled his hair and got in his ear. :thumbsu:

Then Ballantyne's tackle right at the end. :D

I love how these young blokes are showing the Dumb-Arses what courage and putting your body on the line for your team means... :thumbsu:

Dumb-Arses must go!

I was surprised to see Dodd's disposal efficiency so high, along with Peake and Bradley they seemed to play a pivotal role in the standard plummeting in the 2nd quarter.

Broughton's close to my favourite player now, what a champ. :thumbsu:

According to AFL.com.au.... his stats were 17 disposals, 8 Clangers.

Solomon - 7 clangers
Sandilands - 6
De Boer - 5
Peake/Bradley/Pavlich - 4
Woops, was looking at the 1%'er column. Even still, I thought he was shit.

The positive for me is that we are playing numerous first year players with 1/2 a pre season that were passed on by every other club and matching it with most teams. Our depth should be excellent going forward.
Also thought Mundy was OK.

Surely you jest! 12 possessions and 1 goal would be ok for a first year player with a game or two under their belt . isnt he supposed to be playing an on- baller type of role ... er Pav got 36 poss thats whats required.

He was not playing onball today.

Pos: Suban (great effort/most polished performer afield), Ruffles (Courageous and 2 match winning goals), Van Berlo (Great debut, 2 crucial goals), Sandi (AA ruckman), Broughton.

Neg: Peake (has to go, fell over or shanked it everytime), Mundy (another lacklustre effort besides first few mins), Kepler (poor game), Standard of the game (woeful).

Didnt think Hill was anywhere near our best despite disposals (Suban, Van Berlo, Broughton were more important imo) and also felt Haselby struggled.

For me the positives.

The young ones were playing above their weight, and have been most of the season.
We didn't fall apart in the final term, which I was still waiting to happen.
We beat the girls...
Banana kick anyone? Ruffles, great stuff, really hard to see him get stretchered off, but glad he was able to crutch out there after the game.
The Sandyman, all class.

Negatives.
Injuries, has there been a game this season we haven't lost someone?
Only two more home games for the season.

Remembering the game last week, I think that took a toll on us, and that's why the game was a bit flat.

Start of the season I thought we wouldn't win many, but have been really heartened by the effort of the young ones.
