Have you seen him play? He's absolutely in the bottom six selected for Hawthorn When He's Fit. Which hasn't been often in the last two years.

He's got almost no exposed form for the last two years for various reasons, some of which are freakish and shouldn't be repeated, but how do you assess his worth on that basis?

Our second round pick is around 29. We shouldn't offer 13.

He is also in his early 20's. He also spent a lot of the past two years injured. He is also competing for spots with Hodge, Mitchell, Shiels, Hill, Smith, Lewis and Hartung (there's probably others I've missed too). Hawthorn is also extremely good at developing players - known fact.

I never said he was worth pick 13, we should save that for Menzel. That's why I brought up the idea of trading 13 and 32 for Menzel and 20, and then on-trading 20 for Anderson - maybe needs a bit of tweaking, but that's reasonably fair for starters, IMO.

Umm yeah seen a fair few clips ( a good mate of mine of mine is intimately involved at Collingwood). Burton is athletic and can take a grab, he is a talented kid but questions are - where would he play? How will his body hold up? He doesn't have elite aerobic which holds him back from developing into a true Gunston type but with the right program that could develop.

He started this years PS as a jet ......yet didn't make round 1 side

Pretty spot on, however behind Simpkin he was our 2nd best. Had 20 touches, 6 tackles and 2 goals plus score involvement s as a stay at home pocket. He had absolutely no tank for his last month of VFL, it was a huge effort.

If he has a free run at it injury wise he's 100% starting 22.

Shocking comparison with Cheney, one guy has elite talent and the other has very little but gets the very best out himself.

Who does he push out of the starting 22? Not Smith or Hill so he's not a first choice wing. He's not been a small defender but maybe he could take Duryea or Sucklings spot. He didn't push out Poppy when he was fit but Poppy hasn't been 100% this year so maybe he gets in there. You won't push him infrintvif Shiels or Bruest. He's not going past any of the first choice mids so he's fighting with Langford, Hartung, Simpkin.

But that still makes him fringe 22 nd not worth our first round pick. Or Talia (which i don't think you were serious about)

Agree he's got more talent than Cheney and he is hard at it but he's in the same boat - on the edge of the team.

15-20 would be my guess, probably your selection if he's available ( might go before that ).. He would be a nice fit at the Pies as the 3rd target behind Cloke and Moore, he would compliment those guys well.
