Autopsy Post Mortem vs Essendon

Cons:
No connection between the players
Poor game plan
No forward structure
Sidebottom 6 clangers
Ramsay 5 clangers and beaten 5-0 in one-on-one situations and lack of awareness
2.10 from set shots
Moore being hung out to dry as there is no support for him
We are a bottom 5 side and have regressed each of the past 4 years
We will win some games that we aren't expected to win but will continue to lose the games we are expected to win
65 inside 50's (in which we scored 16%)

Pros:
Wells had 8 inside 50's
Treloar 39 possessions; 5 inside 50's; 11 tackles
Maynard and Howe down back

But injuries to key players have been cruel to us you see. Langdon and Sinclair are vital to the side and understandably we need a period of adjustment to overcome such huge personnel losses.

/ end sarcasm

It's funny we always had the injury excuse it's long gone now, just glad the fan boys can't use that excuse anymore.

I retrieved my shredded membership from the shedder and re-shredded it.. now it resembles dust. I should go and blow it on Mcguire's face.

Sorry Gimpy but can't laugh about our Clubs predicament...........many people like you are happy to rejoice ATM but I love Bucks and our Club......always will...........not much comedy relief in that for me!

Bucks lost me last year when we lost to the Blues, that's when it hit me he can't coach, I go to games expecting to lose with my mates around me looking devastated week in week out, today I think it finally hit them.

Worrying times, good players step up and kick crunch goals, Fasolo would kick those set shots every time if we were ten goals up....front runner

The players are devoid of zest and flair, we play a choked style of play. It's cringeworthy.

I no longer see a reason for Sidey to remain. If he can help us get a KPF, so be it.

Pendles isn't right, shouldn't be out there.

You can't argue with the win/loss columns. They're an inarguable measure over time, and by that standard we are on a downward spiral. Today was evidence of that.

I might be accused of over-rating our list and that's probably true, but they are better than that. We are playing an inept style of football to game plan that just has not worked.

That being said, drafting the likes of White and Lynch and not developing young tall forwards of note besides the f/s Moore (who fell in our lap)... That's just one of the issues that suggest Hine's halo has slipped a little.

If the club are not at least putting feelers out for a replacement for Bucks, then those responsible are living in a fantasy land. This type of footy is not sustainable by any measure.

Bucks is and always will be a champion. He's given everything to Collingwood since he walked in door and I f###ing love the man for it. But it's just not working and we can't just wait forever for it to come good.

I much prefer to allow a coach to see a year out and who knows, a miracle may happen and we improve over the course of the year. But if it continues this way we may see Sando or Burns as caretaker before too long, then a new coach for 2018 to clean shop.

Interested to hear what Eddie says about today and how we look forward from here. If we are told to be patient and not lose faith I think I'll spew up.

We traded our 2nd round pick which pending RFA compo and our finish could be as low as pick 19 (which is still a bloody good pick).:(

WHE will only get better loki04 don't judge him on today's game........also don't forget he won us our only game this year.

He is a keeper IMO.

I bet if we asked our players to rate the enjoyment of our game plan/style and they were honest they would say they all hate it.

Shows in the way they play.

I'd say drop Ramsay, but I'm not sure I'd want to inflict that on the vfl team.

Sorry, it's my dark mood.

Ramsey was ducking terrible today. A complete spud pushed off the ball by a fly. No awareness. Good kick and that's about it. If he is chosen next week on the back of that performance we are really going backwards.

Would not sack yet but agree.

Look at Richmond and Benny Gale FFS. Look what they said and are now 5-0 with an OKish list.

Sometimes you need to focus on the here and now. Better to call CRISIS CRISIS now rather than wait to you really hit the skids Dees 2013 or Brisbane style.

Reality is Ramsay has played 13 games total. 13. And he is returning off an acl. He always gets plenty of the ball and he is a player with potential we need to develop. I think people forget he's so inexperienced and they are not cutting him enough slack for this to be honest. 13 gamer coming of an acl....
Does seem to get caught a lot which is a worry for a backman.

I see what you're saying. Let's poach Benny Gale, right?

66 - 43 inside 50s. We had 23 more..... The difference again is Essendon kick their easy set shots, we burn ours again.

Got to laugh at the people blaming Buckley, do you really think that having Clarkson or Roos as coach is really going to make us kick the ball at goal any straighter? Delusional.

We get easy shots?

By my reckoning on the few set shots we get the forwards have just sprinted from the defensive half of the ground, then had multiple leads before maybe getting 1 in 30 kicks actually to them and by that time have more jelly legs then a jelly baby.

Sorry Sco but sarcasm is hard to convey in the written form.........like I said pull the pin now.........I am done and I love Bucks!

P.S To Sco and the group I still don't blame Bucks for our predicament.........I blame the whole Club our DNA is corrupted IMO......I have no doubt about that.
I concur. I could not agree more. You are so right and this is a sad place for our club to be.

Hi guys, sorry to post on an opposition board - but to be honest, I feel I'm in the minority - I'm a non-Collingwood supporter, but not a hater of the club. I have always loved Pendlebury, and other past players, Bucks is one also. The reason I'm posting, I'm seriously wondering, why is a team with such pure talent (Treloar and Adams I obviously know as we traded them with you).... performing so badly? What will happen next? I just want to see the Pies play finals footy because their list is good enough....

I keep thinking about why the dynamics of our midfield isn't working.. perhaps theyre not in tune with each other.. confused as to what each ones role is.. being kept on a leash.. i don't know.. the dynamics should be great.. but it's not.. it's coaching i feel.

It's only a matter of time before Bucks is gone (i'm sad about that), he'll add to the long line of failed Club Champion players who didn't have the coaching background like Voss & Hird.

Pies, have it added into our "constitution" that no future coach can be appointed unless he's done an apprenticeship & has had to go through an interview process. Including reserves coaches.

That even applies to Clarko or Roos if we that's who we end up going with/available.

Absolutely devastated.

Think it's now only how we transition Bucks out and bring the new coach in. As much as I love him did think it was a mistake to reappoint him for a year in 2016. Today was more of the same but unlike a few of the other losses this year Essendon looked clearly the better side most of the day and we never really threatened to win.

Wells will help in the short term and Elliott was good. Still too many poor players in the 22. Apart from De Goey there isn't anyone in the VFL that will improve us. Can't see anything other than 1:5 coming after the Cats. That season done and might be a good time for the club to make an announcement.

No he flat out said Rebuilds are bullshit it is all a continum. Fix holes in the list and play and develop kids with an eye to the future but the here and now is what matters.

Collingwood are told to be patient. Richmond are 5-0. Geelong who never bottom out are 5-0. Hawthorn filled holes where needed and won 3 in a row. Sydney are out of the finals for the first time in how long? Meanwhile Melbourne, St Kilda and Carlton will rebuild for how long?

While I think Buckley did the right thing in trading back into the draft with an eye to the future (2012-13 off seasons) attention still needs to be paid to the week to week WL.
