Next week Port and Sydney are battling for 4th spot. They have equal points and are separated by 1%. While they don't play each other, they both come up against bottom four sides. Obviously both sides are desperate to avoid Essendon week one of the finals.*

Will we see two 20 goal wins?

*might be an exaggeration.

If WCE eagles belt us, you guys may not make finals if I'm not mistaken.

We might rest a tonne of players knowing it's a dead rubber for us. That would be a real kick in the guts for you guys.

Then there's GWS vs Geelong. Not sure about repurcussions of this match. Is it a fight for top 2? They may have to play each other again straight after in a final.

Hoping they bang the living suitcases out of each other.

Then there's Tigers vs Saints. Richmond fighting for that fourth position and that second chance. *

*Provided they win today

I think whoever wins gets home ground for the finals against the other (depending on other results)

Effectively 6 of the 9 matches can potentially affect the top 8.

Port should have the serious edge here - they have been flat track bullies all year + Gold Coast have been made into a rabble through a ridiculous run with injury and have the stench of death hanging over their club in general.

Carlton have some confidence coming off a big win, are far less injury ravaged and have generally avoided complete bollockings save against Geelong, and Port themselves . Suns on the other hand have been properly smashed about 6 times - including at home already against Port.

But Sydney gets the first crack 2 hours earlier which means Port is going to be focused on that scoreline. They might focus on the belting and not just doing the right things that lead to beltings, like a boxer recklessly looking for the KO rather than just letting it happen.

This is where the AFL bringing in the pre finals bye is a good idea, far less need for Adelaide to do this now.

Not quite for Geelong..

If we win we finish 2nd and will host GWS in two weeks but if we lose its likely richmond will win their last two games and leapfrog us for 3rd.

Assuming richmond holds out the saints and dockers here is what NExt saturday means for top 4.

1st week of finals for the top 4 with a Cats win next week

1 Adelaide vs 4 Richmond
2 Geelong vs 3 GWS

1st week of finals for the top 4 if GWS win

1 Adelaide vs 4 Geelong
2 GWS vs 3 Richmond

Huge repercussions

Still possible and either way means big things.

Might be the first time ever the Crows will be barracking for a big Port Power win.

Should Richmond lose one of their next two games, it would be kinda funny to see Sydney finish 4th and play the crows in the first week.

Would be a lot of pressure on the crows to not go out in straight sets the week after, and there's some chance that would be a game against Port, giving us two home finals in a row in a season where we realistically can't win the premiership. Jeez it would be funny if we won that game though, would be serious melts from the feeder club.

If we win our last 2 games and you beat cats you guys will host us first up and send cats to Adelaide. Provided crows beat eagles as if they lose a win will give you top spot and a game against the cats provided Richmond win our last 2 games. Got that?

If GWS beat Geelong (50/50 game) then if Adelaide wants to finish first they need to beat West Coast.

Pushed Sydney to within a kick at the SCG last year and beat them round 6 this year.

Would be bitterly disappointed if we lost by 5+ goals
