Predict attendance V Bulldogs

depending on the weather which is tipped to be perfect, We will nudge 53K. Then the week after, we show the comp who the real boss is, when we pack the gabba. Lets see if the commentators suck our c**ks like they did the scums all night about their travelling "army". There is only one army d***heads.

I don't understand why the AFL continue guaranteeing them 2 games per year against both Collingwood and Essendon. Especially Essendon. Those Carlton V Essendon games are a surprisingly poor draw on average and it is almost entirely because the miniscule little Blue Platoon don't show up. Essendon and ourselves have buffered their attendance figures for years.

Essendon value ANZAC Day and they are trying to build Dreamtime along with us.....they couldn't care less about building a blockbuster with Carlton since they carry the fixture as it is just as we carry Round 1.
Carltoon are only playing Essendrug once this year

Yeah Carlton didn't want 2 games because they thought Essendon players were going to be rubbed out and they wanted to avoid the embarrassment of losing twice to a VFL side.

Anyway, back on topic I reckon somewhere between 50-60k would be good. Over 60k would be sensational. Both teams up and about.

I like to think we can get close to 50,000 Tigers to most home games this year. When we are winning we have got 40-45,000 at home games in the last couple of years.

Bit like Norf,Doggies fans will be out in force for the Richmond game.
Should be able to nudge 60k.

Got nearly a full house for these two teams at Etihad(the infamous spew game madtiger:D).

Does he still go?

That was a bit of a sook by BT.

Weather forecast has Saturday as sunny and cloudy but with no rain...so with that in mind, I'm betting the rain will keep a few away. Should still get 50k minimum though. We are, afterall, the biggest and best show in town.

Not to mention this is probably the biggest game in Footscray's proud history - at least since the '54 GF and our NAB cup game at Whitten Oval in preseason. They will be up for the occasion.

I thought you said there was NO rain yet that would keep a few away :p

Haha I did Bojangles17...just that Melbourne's weather is always unpredictable. It's sunny when you expect rain and wet when you expect sun! :drunk:

Dogs have 6 H&A crowds above 60k, 68k being their highest ever (Round 11, 1974 against Richmond when we were 2nd and they were 3rd). We should be able to make this week their 7th above 60k given decent weather and some publicity during the week. Given that we've drawn >60k against St Kilda, Melbourne and North in recent years (similar in size to the dogs).

Yeah he was with us Thursday. No spewing but he had the coke bottle full of scotch on the way again lol

These sort of games tend to be louder than the blockbusters for some reason.More sections of the crowd get into it.
Looking forward to it already.

Think it has to do with all the Tigers sitting together at one end instead of scattered for ticketed games. The crowd is louder during the day too

I don't just like this post...I love it.

Post of the week.

The Beast has awoken. The Mighty Tiger is once again prowling in his jungle.

I'd missed that.

If so it's about time. The fact of the matter is that Essendon's games VS both Collingwood and ourselves trend as bigger draws than their games V The Miniscule Blue Minnow and there is absolutely no justification for the Carlton V Essendon fixture to enjoy privileged status as a "must have 2 games" drawcard.

If anything Carlton VS Essendon is the weakest of all the Big 4 match ups and that is a verifiable fact.

Example.
2005 to 2014 Essendon V Carlton Average attendance 61,764
2005 to 2014 Essendon V Richmond Average attendance 64,205

They will moan about Dreamtime but that is nothing but a non holiday Saturday weekend match up with a silly bit of theatre added. It does jack all for the attendance.

Essendon/Carlton rivalry is a nothing rivalry. Didn't exist until the late 90s

If it weren't for Sheedy bringing his Carltoon hatred over from the Tiges it would never have existed. Same goes for the Essendin/ Collingwood one which was also manufactured in the 90s.

With Essendon in disgrace and the Blues likely to be in meltdown onfield their one game this year won't exactly stretch the capacity at the MCG either.

Kiss goodbye to two Bomber crowds pumping your attendance stats every year my little Blue minnows. The Tigers will have to do it for you.

I find it hilarious the afl have given so many prime time games again to Carltoon this year. They will be worse than ever this year and the AFL will be kicking themselves at season end.

They have only themselves to blame.

Truly I cannot understand how they don't look behind the headline attendances V Collingwood and in Round 1 and realise the Little Blue Platoon simply cannot carry a crowd without the Three Big draws doing it for them.

Mike Fitzpatrick looking after his old club for sure

Absolutely.

I mean look at Melbourne games VS Port for example. They have never drawn 30,000 to a game V Port.....NEVER. Despite all or uselessness over he expansion years we've seen 2 or 3 30K plus attendances and even little Hawthorn have done it....the Blues? No way.
