Predictions of fringe players making an impact in 2018

Hawthorn - Jarman Impey and Teia Miles
There's about 7 players I'd have ahead of Miles.

Howe, Lovell, Glass, O'Rourke, Hanrahan, Morrison, Cousins...

David Mirra - Hawthorn
Tom Stewart - Geelong
Adam Saad - Essendon
Alex Witherden - Brisbane
Will Brodie - Gold Coast
Tom Langdon - Collingwood
Caleb Marchbank/Charlie Curnow - Carlton
Sam Weideman - Melbourne

I think those 9 will take big steps and have a fairly large impact.
Saad isn't fringe, he just played for GC, therefore most people had no idea who he was. 22 games last year easily shows he's not fringe.

Marchbank and Curnow are two of Carltons best young talent, not fringe.

Do you know what fringe means?

Matera is superior #3

tom stewart not a chance. Has fantastic endeavour but his skills are very poor.

Chris Masten, break out year :D

On a more serious note I think/ hope it will be Tom Cole solidifying himself in the back 6.

Are Rioli, Ryan and Ah Chee classified as fringe?

I see them all having good seasons at AFL level.

Think it's a slight stretch to call a draftee a fringe straight out, Rioli a possibility and Ah Chee was fringe at Port. Agree that he will have a much larger impact at West Coast.

If Essendon put some serious faith in Langford and Laverde as big bodied inside midfielders, they're at the age where they could seriously come along.

Could prob throw Venables in there as well then for someone yet to debut.
Then there are the true fringe players in Karpany, Cole, Mutimer, Parto, McInnes, Nelson all of whom have tried on a jumper on gameday but yet to keep it on. Of them I would say Nelson and Karpany could be the ones to watch.

I'd prefer to see him at Casey but I will hunt Goodwin down and butcher him in cold blood if he puts that ball butcher Harmes anywhere near the back line, his skills and decision making are horrible.

Already have turnover king Jayden Hunt back there, don't need another one.

Rioli and Ryan have not debuted yet so who knows they might play 22 games each which would mean no . I think the thread is about players who were fringe in 2017 , But will break out in 2018 and have good seasons . So Ah Chee qualifies

Yeah, I'd rather a bloke who gets the ball a lot more, and turns it over a lot less, too.

Literally a quarter of Hunt's disposals in 2017 were turnovers. But he runs fast!

I'd rather the bloke that didn't cost two first round picks and is nothing but empty stats.

Stick to focusing on your mob.

Clarke is pretty much starting 22 now.

The DT/SC types would be wise to keep him safe in 2018.;)
Dunno about DT, but in SC he's not damaging enough. Not enough points per disposal.

In the real world, his natural ability to accumulate and get to contests will be important in a side that's lacking many of that sort.

He's also at a horrible middle of the road price, and for some reason is listed as a F/M.
One for the future, but not 2018.
