Adelaide vs Fremantle, aami stadium, 13:40 Saturday June 1st.

This game is another dangerous one for us. Freo have a tendency to get out to an early lead, and then go into lock down to protect that lead. If you couple that with our slow starts, it doesn't look good.

I would love to be optimistic about it, but this is going to be a tough game.

Predictions:
Crowd 37,500

Final score:
Adelaide 10.10 70
Freo 12.11 83
:(

Prove me wrong, Crows

we are their bogey team. didnt we beat them thrre times last year? should win, esp since its our home game, not theirs

Has forgotten that. It makes me feel a bit better, but freo are a better side this year than last year.

They are a better side. But they are missing quite a few key players like pav, sandilands and some others.

I think we will win by 4 goals, sloane to dominate, danger to kick 3 from outside 50 breaking from a contest, jenkins quiet but smack will have a good 20 touches and a few goals

I think we'll win. The comeback against North will give them huge confidence, and we've fared very well against Freo in the past.

As good as our forward line has been functioning lately, coming up against the Dockers is one of the biggest tests in the AFL.

Are Freo fans welcome in here?

I'm a bit worried because last week was a glorified training run, hoping we come out with a high level of intensity and don't give away a 3-4 goal head start. However I don't believe that last year's results are indicative of the way this game will play out. We were missing McPharlin for 2 of those games (I think) and Tex absolutely mauled Silvagni, this year that is obviously different, and McPharlin can go to Jenkins. Our mids are playing well and Spurr is a solid matchup for Kerridge. Crowley to Dangerfield also I'd say.

Tipping Freo by 9 but with no conviction, could go either way.

i recon we will win by 3-4 goals, jacobs to dominate, danger to destroy freo again with 35 possies and jenkins to kick straight and get 4-5 goals. Looking forward the the midfield battle should be a great match

tipping a reasonably comfortable win. think we built some really good momentum last week that we will carry into this game

adelaide by 37 - jenkins, kerridge, lynch all with 3

Our defense is critical for not just this week, but next. We're going to get smothered and forced into stoppages and playing the boundary. If we can hold them to a manageable score the game will break open up at some point. Dangerfield is getting a rep for busting tags at 3/4 time. Our back flankers and back pockets will be shouldering a lot of responsibility.

They don't have a key forward do they?

Has anyone kicked any goals at all this year with McPharlin on them? I think Jenkins is in for a tough time.

I'd be more concerned for McPharlin it's not like other match-ups Jenkins is Jenkins only real problem, leaning back on his kicks. Mcpharlin won't be able to match his pace size weight and reach, whether he can kick straight is his problem right now. Athletically there is no defender that can actually go with him he beat Stanley cold and hes a 2m tall GF sprint winner. Lynch is pretty much a Nick Riewoldt caste McPharlin might go to him as they are size equivalent with that matchup. They will want someone faster or bigger on Jenkins he's 199cm 103kgs, he is a handful with that pace, he'd quite honestly be unstoppable if Adelaide setup around his athletic ability. As well McPharlin could go forward.

While I don't rate past history much we have had a good run at home with 3 wins from past 4 matches at AAMI and a 14-4 record overall.

Adelaide by 17 points.
Danger 35 possessions and more than half of them contested.
Douglas to continue his good form and pick up 25 possessions and score a couple.
JJ to score more goals than behinds.
Kerridge to have a quiet one.

I'm concerned about this game. Comeback win aside, we we're really pretty poor against North. If we show up and play the same sort of game against Freo...their defense will shut us out of the game. We need to play it on our terms.

I can see danger being completely shut out and battered.

I'm not confident, but you would like to think given our 3 wins last year and their outs, we should be able to scrape a win.

McPharlap won't go forward. He'll be a handful against anyone. Our backline play as a team, and they all tag team a key forward. Will be in the midfield where the game is won or lost. As long as we can contain Dangerfield, Sloane & Vince we will win. Big ask though, but lately is the best we've played so far this year.

We were very average against north for 3 quarters.

Didn't see the first quarter, but the score suggests we weren't great - Can't really comment

As it was, I only got to the game at about the 18 min mark of the 2nd quarter - As soon as I got there we piled on four quick goals and looked good. From my perspective, there was only 10 or so mins in the 3rd and the opening of the last quarter where we looked flat...

I think saying we were average for a full 3 quarters is a bit overboard... You don't kick 17 goals in a game playing poorly for 3 quarters..

north burned themself out at the start of every quarter, they had no run late in every quarter and adelaide had plenty which became telling at the end of the game, every quarter played out the same early burst north late comeback by adelaide. Really were quite poor simply the inside 50s were exceptionally well executed when it came down to it due to the multiple forward targets and leading capabilities.

Weather could be a big factor. I would hope that any wet weather would tip the odds in our favour. I am not looking forward to a Ross Lyon borefest though.

This will be a very interesting game to see where the Crows season is at. Which Crows will turn up? Hoping they're still fired up from last week and a huge vocal home crowd...
Didn't Crowley switch between Thommo and Danger in their last game? Match-ups will be interesting, they need to start dominating the contested footy again as they did for the last 5-10 mins against north, ball up? - yes! here we go!
