They have a fairly handy captain coming back in, plus I'm sure they have a few quality recruits.

Yep. Watched the Grand Final, which was a fantastic game and Trinity were great all year. I have heard that the players may be riddled with the travel bug this year, as well as a few departures.Did you watch the Grand Final? Seriously good team.
Please, talk about a Xavier bloke trying to deflect attention from his own team!
If you were setting a real market, it would look something like this:
Uni Blues $1.95
St Bernards $2.05
Old Trinity $2.10
De La Salle $4.50
Old Xavs $6.00
The rest $9.50.

Pls pm me your contact details.Premier Division EDFL Club looking for a practice match 12th of March. The game will consist of 3 Grades, full quarters plus time on and can host

Well, we agree to disagree. A club that hasn't won an Premier game for a decade is not a "superpower" in my view. By your definition, you could have a superpower in Premier B as long as they had good depth and strong thirds and plenty of numbers. Potential superpower maybe but not a superpower yet. Only the mighty Xavs fit that bill. IF SKOB get relegated this year, are they still a "superpower" because of their thirds?
Yes. The reason the thirds and fourth quality is perceived to be so good is due to the strength of their seniors and reserves so it is related to the quality of the seniors and reserves .The complaint is about thirds and fourths quality. Not senior (1sts) quality. Once you realise/understand/accept the context, it should make sense.

Hopefully you can ubdetstand/ realise/accept that. Do u think if West Brunswick had 200 players D grade standard or below people would be complaining about the strength of their thirds ?
Yes.. It's numbers and qualityIt’s also related to overall numbers – Xavs and SKOBs have more than twice the number of registered players as OC and OT.
And if there were D grade 3rds and WB had 200 plus players then some clubs may well suggest that the WB 3rds play in a higher grade. However as there is not it is not relevant.

Rubbish. As another example Fitzroy in 2007 fielded 5 teams. Two clubbies teams often smashed many of their opponents and the opposition at THAT level bemoaned the fact FFC had players who were better than club XVIII standard running around in THAT comp.
Seniors win 4 games for the year and the club was relegated.
Forget your obsession with the moniker "superpower" and focus on the basic point. Player rated 75 at OX and SKOB is a far better quality of player than at OC and OT (if they even exist). Not necessarily because their seniors are so jammed with stars, it's just that they have far more handy players supporting their senior two teams.
If you can't understand that, frankly I'm done.![]()

As Penski rightly pointed out clubbies are a very different beast so your comparison isn't valid . We are talking about thirds .
It is clear that you like to win on here . If only all the sides you coached had won more often !

I'm on your side on this one Scribe, reserves finals are a different beast with qualifications for players having played too many or not enough games, both teams playing on the same day etc.Four seasons I coached sides in the VAFA. 72 regular games for 40 wins (11, 13, 11 and 5) and 32 losses. Just under 56%. Lost both finals we played though.

And nearly got whitefriars relegated !
winning finals pretty important !
I'm not quite seeing the relevance to the original subject - the relative depth/strength of OX/SKOB versus OT/OC.
Anyhow if you choose not to play the ball, it's usually because you're not travelling very well.

Don't ever feel you have to justify your record here. You are one of very few posters over the years who has had the intestinal fortitude to take on the demanding caper. Coaches don't last the length of time you have without possessing good teaching skills and having a sound knowledge of the game.Four seasons I coached sides in the VAFA. 72 regular games for 40 wins (11, 13, 11 and 5) and 32 losses. But he didn't last the length of time ... He left the vafa in the end to be a line coachDon't ever feel you have to justify your record here.
