Ablett was the difference for Fitzroy last week against the Eagles. Quiet for two quarters he bobbed up when he was needed in the last half of the final quarter to snatch the game away from us. Not sure you blokes would be as bad as Gold Coast without him. You move the ball well off half-back and have meaningful inside 50 entries.

Still no Pickers in the side last week, FR? How far away?

He played on the weekend Mobbenfuhrer, rested up in the last quarter...looked a little proppy, but took a couple of marks and snagged a goal or 2, the run will hopefully have done him some good

Fair call UpTheNest, was a cracking game of footy played in pretty tricky circumstances. BTW, hats off to your club & supporters after the game...very hospitable and friendly considering the close result :thumbsu:

Was a pleasure getting down to Brunswick St Oval. Super venue and a real old fashioned local football club feel. Just quietly, those hamburgers they were dishing up were amazing!

Old Camberwell
Parkdale
Marcellin
Banyule
Ablett

The Roys are struggling to find a training venue at the moment with more power needed for the new lights at Brunswick St - apparantly the power company has missed their delivery date by 6 weeks already!!

Looks like most tipsters are in agreement with the expected winners this week:

Monash vs Old Camberwell
Parkdale vs Rupertswood
Marcellin vs Mazenod
Banyule vs Hampton Rovers
PEGS vs Fitzroy

Watched the Vultures beat Rupertswood today at Gerry Green. Hard fought game with no more than a couple of kicks in it for most of the game. -Well played by both sides. Its gonna be a tough comp this year.....

Marcellin just held on against a late charge by Mazenod. Very scrappy game with not much in it for the duration. Very good run and carry from Mazenod but the Eagles were relentless at the ball carrier to hold on to the win. Interesting note; second win for the year where the opposition has had more scoring shots than the Eagles.

Ultra slippery conditions at the famous 'Clayton Catchment' that is Monash Uni saw the Frearson Oval host a torrid affair. The visitors were stung into action at the half, but only secured the points with the last 2 goals if the game as both benches were whittled down through injury/attrition.

Looks like wins on the road will be hard to come by in 2012, so this was a good one to snatch!

Glad to hear we turned on some hospitable conditions for your boys Scribo! Pity you took the four points home with you. We'll be better next time around at the Barnyard I would think. Few injuries I hear from the comfort of the cricket trip. Beer time.....

Few massive games this week, not the least being out at the duck pond where Monash takes on Rupo. Nothing in it last year at the same venue. Fair chance a few young monash boys might get lost on the massive trek.

Also a top game at the bear pit. Are the bangers in the hunt? A win on Saturday says they are.
