PSD/Rookie Draft

I guess this tells us how SOS rated Holman.

The interesting question is "what does SOS know that we don't?"

KFC's secret herbs and spices recipe?

What really happened to Jimmy Hoffa?

The question to the answer 42?

I know gws has a lot of youngsters, but golds was contracted until end of 2016 (signed two year end of 2014). But they cut him anyway. Add to that and he didn't play a single senior match in 2015.

Injury doesn't look to be an issue as has played full seasons in neafl last 4 years. Guessing he simply isn't good enough?

Maybe Golds didnt pan out..

:p

Over on the Crow's Board it seems they are saddish to see Wright go but not overly. Had a stellar year in 2012 but hasn't come on since. Only 25/6. Why can't we turn out of form, out of sorts players around the same way other clubs do ours? Well?

I think that with the new coach, we might finally be able to :)

The depths you guys will mine for a cheap laugh.

Back on topic, Golds looks a good prospect.

It's all for a bit of fun at the end of the day guys & I guess there's nothing wrong with that,my apologies anyway back to the topic:thumbsu:;).

You mean a coach who knows how to use both the stick and the carat?
We'll put him through the mill and if he doesnt pan out, toss him on the waste pile.

Apologies if already posted... Herald Sun mature prospects

SANFL
VFL
WAFL

Jansen and Rippon would add to our rotations following unexpected departures of Holman and Walsh. Ben Cavarra continues to get mentioned but was too small at the time.

For those who want the info without having to look for Jansen, Rippon and Cavarra... here it is.
Chris Jansen (Central Districts)

Age: 20

Position: Midfielder

2015 SANFL average numbers: 26 disposals, 18 uncontested possessions, 6 marks, 4 clearances, 3 tackles and 117 SuperCoach points from 14 matches

ARGUABLY the SANFL recruit of the season, Jansen has thrown himself into this year’s draft mix after a stunning 2015 campaign, which culminated in winning the league’s rising star award (the Powerade Star Search). After winning Belconnen’s best and fairest in the NEAFL in 2014, the big-bodied midfielder was lured to Elizabeth and made the most of his opportunity, being named in the Bulldogs’ best players in 10 of his 14 games and impressing with his ability to find the ball. But on the eve of the SANFL finals, Jansen suffered an unusual yet unfortunate injury, straining the medial cruciate ligaments in both his knees. He recovered, though, to perform well at the recent state combine, finishing with an impressive 14.1 in the beep test and top-three finishes in the running vertical jump tests. With age on his side, Jansen is certainly on the radar of club recruiters.

Nick Rippon (North Ballarat)

Age: 21

Position: Midfielder

2015 VFL average numbers: 25 disposals, 15 uncontested possessions, 4 marks, 5 clearances, 6 tackles, 4 score involvements, 4 inside 50s and 98 SuperCoach points (6 goals overall)

HE DEFINITELY caught the attention of the VFL umpires in 2015 and, most likely, AFL recruiters. Rippon produced a stellar 2015 season, taking out the J.J. Liston Trophy for the VFL’s best and fairest player. Other players to have taken out that award in the past include Ben Ross, Aaron Edwards, James Podsiadly, Ian Callinan and Sam Mitchell — all players who eventually found their way onto AFL lists. Coachable and a natural accumulator of the footy, Rippon was also named on the wing in the VFL’s team of the year.

Ben Cavarra (Frankston)

Age: 19

Position: Small forward/midfielder

2015 VFL average numbers: 20 disposals, 10 contested possessions, 4 inside 50s, 5 clearances, 4 score involvements, 5 tackles and 82 SuperCoach points (13 goals overall)

A TAC Cup premiership captain, Morrish medallist and a Vic Metro representative, Cavarra literally ran out of things to achieve during his final year of underage footy. But while he couldn’t have sold himself any better to AFL recruiters, his height and shaky disposal by foot were too greater hindrances. Yet Cavarra, to his credit though, has never let his stature — or lack thereof — distract him in his inspirational quest to become an AFL footballer. And two years later, Cavarra’s name has popped up again as a potential AFL recruit, following two standout seasons for Frankston that saw him claim consecutive best and fairest awards — that’s after winning two straight club awards at the Eastern Ranges the two years before that. What he lacks in height he makes up for in work rate, second efforts, tenacity and football awareness. A quality footballer and person, Cavarra deserves a crack at the big time.

And I think that this guy might also be a shot. He would be at the top end of our age range, but it would be all good I think...
Kaine Stevens (West Adelaide)

Age: 23

Position: Midfielder

2015 SANFL average numbers: 25 disposals, 11 contested possessions, 4 marks, 7 clearances, 7 score involvements, 1 score assist, 3 tackles, 4 inside 50s, and 109 SuperCoach points from 22 matches (21 goals overall)

THE quintessential goalkicking midfielder, Stevens might have caught the eye of AFL recruiters in 2015. An exciting wingman-midfielder who racks up plenty of the footy, Stevens excelled in his second season at West Adelaide, booting 21 goals from 22 games, while also accumulating plenty of disposals both inside and outside packs. Stevens spent one year in the AFL system, playing for GWS in the TAC Cup during 2010 before being released at the end of the season. However after solid campaigns with NEAFL club Queanbeyan and, most recently, West Adelaide, he’s established himself as an elite player at state level.

Cal 2me in the latest podcast mentioned 191cm 22yo defender Nathan Broad as the most likely bolter to be drafted of the mature state leaguers.

Given our addiction to Swan Districts players...
