Umpiring: Good overall. I was vocal pulling up shit throughout the year, but today was fairly well umpired (there were 2 HTB I disagreed with, went 1 each way) but overall good. If only they could do that throughout the year

Coaching: Did we outcouch ourselves? Elliott got ontop of Bond. Play Max on him do we win? IDK, probably a 1 kick game.

Players: I was pretty happy overall tbh.

The game was an armwrestle. Some players got ontop (Worrall, Berry, Walker) some lose (Bond, Fogarty)

The game was won by collingwood in that 3rd quarter. But, the thing is, the fight back within the 3rd quarter to get it back to 3 goals shows that they can fight back momentum mid-quarter.

Collingwood won that by being the better team, but there were signs in that game, that give me hope. Bringing in Rachele next week (Hinge/Bond out, Michalaney down back) and I think we're a bloody good shot. 60/40 next week vs either hawthorn or GWS, 50/50 vs Geelong, or 40/60 vs Brisbane. And if we can make a GF. we get our best team on the park.

worrell.. worst game I have ever seen him play

He tries it once a game, and don’t think I’ve seen him actually pull it off. Needs to put that shot back in his bag.
I take it you're a bandwagoner who's only watched the last 2 months of the season?

For most of the year he's pulled it off. He's ****ed it up the last 1-2 months though.

Not helped by doing things like drafting mids like Charlie Edwards, turning them into back flankers and then saying we have no spots to play him.

Exactly - it's the culmination of poor planning and development over the entire season; exposed when it matters.

ANB toe poke wasn't even close to a goal.
The thing is, the replay they needed to look at was the first touch. 1 angle on the toe poke looked maybe, the other screamed no. But they never looked at the first. was it below the knee or not? Who knows, they never looked at that.

I don't know if I feel more sorry for folks listening to the bias commentary or listening to the flogs supporters at the game. There is no pathway to a GF for us now

I can't believe some of the low expectations some have of some of our players. Some are happy with berry's performance tonight, he had 12 possessions as a main midfielder. A lot of people are happy with Cummings year, tonight he had 7 possessions and for much of the year has had little impact.
Stats have nothing to do with it. Berry got clean clearances, ran with the ball, and didn't do hack kicks. Cumming just had an awful game.

So can Hugh Bond he was very good given his very limited exposure to the top level especially his composure, decision making and disposal was way way better than a lot of our far more experienced players. His hard work on his kicking over the pre0season is very noticeable now.
They litetally just said on 5AA bond cost us tonight and wasn't upto it with his man elliot kicking 3 goals on him.

Not Keays only mistake. Also took a greedy shot from 50 that didn't make the distance and took a shot off ROB (who was honestly more likely to kick it) in the pocket then missed

He is only good if he plays within his limitations

Yep, said that in a separate post - he constantly pings for goal beyond 40m, which is his comfortable range, and almost never scores them, it's selfish and stupid.

He should've been flat out told that if you mark anywhere near the 50, you cannot go for goal.

It's been a fun season, there is next week, and we're closer to the start of the overall journey than the end, but at times like this it feels like we're miles away.
It doesn't feel like we're miles away.
Tonight showed we are miles away, sadly.
A midfield monstering from the bounce. They straight-lined every contest, we fiddled at the edges. Collingwood have been preparing for tonight since about May.
Yeah, May 2023 :sadv1: .
Meanwhile we've got Nicks trying to outsmart himself with mind games for a 21 year old coming back from injury,
Yep, well said.
When it was first "revealed" that Michalanney was training with the forwards I suggested it was a dupe.
Sure enough, Nicks in his first Final preparation fooled only himself in a weak attempt to outsmart a better Coach.
and Laird at first half stoppages.
Nicks does like his tried and true go-to favourites.
Nicks was out-Coached and their Finals experience came to play tonight.

Ugly: Crows fans booing whenever the Collingwood chant started. It sounded weird and dumb. Cheer your own team, don't boo the opponents for cheering theirs!
Uglier: Crows supporters booing Quaynor.
