We missed Rankine for sure, but I disagree, with respect. He didn't **** us on any account.not only did we miss izak, his stupidity [lit] a fire under collingwood too. he ****ed us on two accounts.
I agree that several players folded under Collingwood pressure (at one stage in the first quarter alone I think the pressure 'gauge' was 168 to us, 265 to them (something like that) and we couldn't cope, some of the players need to take one hell of a look at that performance and decide if thats as good as they can give, and if they want to play more than two finals.
Nicks is a cautious, conservative coachSeemed like a prime opportunity to try Curtin in the middle. A bigger body to take on De Goey, but him going into the midfield seems to have been completely scrapped as an idea we'll try.
Or Nicks went for Keays/Laird because he's leaning back into not trusting younger players again.

We took the game on, it's why there were so many dumb turnovers. Collingwood hit the pack much harder than us to collect the contested ball and always have players on the outside receiving. Collingwood is just so well drilled they know exactly where every team mate will be if they collect the ball. They took the game on and we didn’t.
We had no run.
Comprehensively out coached.
Players choked.
Awful performance
Richard Douglas was brought in to give the team a rev up.Boy we fell over a lot
No we didn’t, we continually kicked it to a contest or bombed long to one of their defenders. They ran the ball with uncontested possessions, they smashed us in that regard. We took the game on, it's why there were so many dumb turnovers. The worry was the football we saw tonight wasn't nerves or lack of finals experience
We played very similar football vs West Coast and North Melbourne, and in patches vs Hawthorn and Collingwood. The only difference tonight is that the bad bits went for longer and the good bits were shorter.
There was no discernible difference:
Panicky and fumbly under pressure
Resorting to panic bombs to their numbers
Cut up at ground level
Thanks IzakWell it's nice to see we went from the darlings of the AFL to the absolute scum of the earth villains in about 3 weeks. Tomorrow is going to be a shit show.

We turned the ball over trying to switch play a lot. Collingwood's handball game was impressive but that doesn't mean kicking isn't taking the game on.No we didn’t, we continually kicked it to a contest or bombed long to one of their defenders. It triggered a period of play where Collingwood scored 47 to 2.The defining moment of the game.
Filthy...love the guy... but FMD that sloppy cross ground and turnover killed our momentum and we were already having a very ordinary night. I knew we'd blown it then.
Need to be smarter than that. Who was it in the last quarter that ignored Cumming in the forward 50 and kicked it to Moore instead?Kicked to Moore all ****ing night.

Yes, but the game was over.Had Cumming available for an easy chip inside 50 but decided to blaze away as if he was still 25.
I can forgive Thilthorpe for his **** up, but when one of the guys who is supposed to provide experience does that then that’s unforgivable.
Absolutely nailed itThat coaching/preparation from McRae, that leadership from Moore and Sidebottom, and that pure control of a game from midfielders is where we need to get to. It's been a fun season, there is next week, and we're closer to the start of the overall journey than the end, but at times like this it feels like we're miles away.
A midfield monstering from the bounce. They straight-lined every contest, we fiddled at the edges. Collingwood have been preparing for tonight since about May.
Meanwhile we've got Nicks trying to outsmart himself with mind games for a 21 year old coming back from injury, and Laird at first half stoppages.
