I've been relatively confident this week, but feeling nervous this morning. Quite easy to visualise a disappointing and frustrating game (yes I'm a pessimist). Tempted to hedge and put a few dollars on Coll.
How much should I pay for a crows win? Hmm

I hope to see the Crows calm, focussed and determined; not overawed by the occasion; and not over emotional regarding Rankine.

But I’m a pessimist and think they’ll be fumbling, anxious and kicking wildly, while not manning up, watching the ball sail past them down to the Collingwood goals with nary a Crows player in sight. Just cross my fingers the Crows defenders don’t get worn out, and/or Collingwood miss plenty of shots.

The pronounced difference between a win and loss tonight feels so so stark.

WIN (ugly, close - who cares) and its utter jubilation. We will all believe, we are nearly there to the big dance and will go in faves in prelim. A GF fairytale story which we can all dream of for 2 weeks. And even in a worst case scenario of a prelim finals loss it’s undoubtedly a very successful season.

But LOSE, and geez. Suddenly lots of questions asked. Genuine fear of a straight sets exit with Giants or Hawks both immensely talented semi finals opponents. A week of trepidation upcoming and the real fears of ultimately a wasted season after our immense minor round. And with all the ferals just waiting for us to fail I might need to relocate to Thailand for a few months.

Need to just GET IT DONE

I’m tipping 30+ win for the Crows.

All year we’ve had challenges:

• Couldn’t play at MCG = smashed Essendon by 60 points
• Couldn’t beat a good team = beat GWS
• Couldn’t beat a good team away = beat WB at Marvel
• Couldn’t beat Hawks = won
• Couldn’t beat Collingwood = won
• We’d finish 5th - 8 th = finished first after winning 9 (?) in a row

Now it’s can’t win because of no finals experience or can’t win with no Rankine.

Sounds like another challenge for the boys they’ll want to smash down. Every challenge they’ve succeeded. Just 3 more to go.

Despite the last 6 games margin being within 10 points and our overall record against Collingwood being the worst, in terms of wins and losses, in the league, I feel like we'll blow them away tonight. They'll hang on and win the 2nd half, because that is how they're programmed, but I can't see them getting within 4 goals. Howe is a loss they can't cover for IMO. McStay is their most dangerous marking option up forward and he's dropped. Hill the extra dynamic depth up forward they'll miss. They'll be more dangerous later in September if we meet them again, but tonight the win is there for the taking. Go Crows!

Be nice if we played the first quarter this week

That feels like it's been our biggest issue the last 5-6 weeks. We let the opposition get out early, we've clawed it back but it's made it all the more harder for us in the process.

Very worried about our midfield and going with too many defenders. They beat us up everywhere but scoring and Degoey being 5th game back going 12, 15, 11 then 26 is another concern to add to no Rankine. Pies by 4-5 goals for mine.
