Haven't sat in the top deck for a while, but from memory at the front of Q it should be ok.

Lacks atmosphere but its good from a tactical point of view as you can seen the play unfolding pretty well.

The longer you wait the further back you'll get in Q I'd say.

Row BB is actually the 28th row back, so it is a very long way up. Have you thought about separating the group and have 4 sit somewhere and 3 in another spot? You might get better seats that way.

I might try and call Ticketek tomorrow and see what they can do. It's my mate's first AFL match and I want him to experience the atmosphere and not be stuck up in the nose bleeds somewhere.

It's extremely annoying that the last round isn't fixed yet. I have booked flights for the rest of our home games for the year but haven't been able to for the last round since I don't know when the game is going to be. I might just book a flight down on the Friday and chuck a sickie regardless. The problem being that I may also need to do the same for the finals.

Very inconsiderate of the AFL not to consider me.

Not just inconsiderate to you, but also to the greater public. With just over a month to the last round, it should have been finalised already.

I enquired about this same issue to the AFL members services team and they said teams competing in the finals will be most likely scheduled on Friday night or Saturday to allow a similar rest period to the elimination/qualifying finals so there are no advantages from the draw.
