Has there been any latest update in the quality of this years draft? I heard from someone that there was a recent discussion on radio that this years draft runs shallow with only the first 5 picks being of very good quality. But thereafter it's luck of the draw. They went on saying that Hawthorn were aware of this possible scenario last year when sacrificing our first round pick for JOM anticipating that we wouldn't feature at the end top end of the draft anyway. Is there any merit here or just someone justifying Hawthorns draft strategy? Would be interested if anyone heard the same discussion.

That thought certainly crossed my mind at the time, and I also thought we could be more interested in f/s and academy picks then draftees.

Watched a bit if the Carlton Melbourne game, Has Jordan Lewis had work done to his hairline?

No way, hair grows back if you try hard enough!

He does look better though.

Does anyone know if we can get free kicks broken down into earned (eg, for a good tackle) and penalised (eg, running too far, throwing the ball, etc)?

I was thinking that it would be interesting to see which teams are applying pressure and earning rewards, and which teams are mistaking the opposition into the game. The only stat which is repeated is free kicks for/against but there is no distinction as to why the FK was awarded. Sometimes a FK imbalance is due to great pressure. Sometimes it's due to sloppy play. It would be nice to see how that plays out and which teams are better or more aggressive than others.

Are you Fred Flintstone?
Yabba gabba dabba doooooo!
Willlllllllmaaaaaaaa!

No - my mechanic has pulled the driveline out my Sandman - big rebuild and new 6 speed going in. I need to go get beer and tampons (Cats mate coming over for a drink) and the shops are downhill from my shed. Thought it would be fun to roll down and I'd save heaps on fuel. Surely with no motor or box I'd be ok.
Trip home probably be hard work but hey, the hard way!
Hopefully Goodes is up this way on holidays and I could run him over. Could you get done for running over Adam Goodes in a car with no motor nor gear box? Beer box? Great idea who's driving? Beep beep come on Dino get in you coming Barney?

If you were at a pub and Goodes and Dangerfield were there and they started to punch on who would you support and step in to help if it got bad?
I'd probably just drink beer

The little transparency there was on umpires and decisions went out the window when the AFL canned the "Whistle Blowers."
I would like a simple analysis of which umpire gave each team frees, and where they were given.

Would never happen. It'd turn into some kind of nice guy off, where they'd both magically sprout man buns and somehow end up with another AFL ambassadorship promoting safe alcohol consumption.

Pardon the intrusion folks, I mentioned this the other day on the main board and i wanted to get some Hawks fan opinions. How many more flags could your 80s/early 90s team have won if Gary Ablett SNR had played his whole career at Hawthorn? Its scary to think one of the GOAT teams adding in a player of Abletts caliber. Your thoughts?

Rumour is he signed a contract to return to Hawthorn in the 1987 off season but he had a 2 week cooling off period and decided to return to Geelong. If he stayed at Hawthorn, we probably pick up 90, possibly 92 and who knows after the super even 93 season.
