A new era is set to begin for the Bombers.

After more than 32 years since its last competitive match at the highest level, Windy Hill will play host to its first ever AFLW match when the Bombers take on the Saints this Sunday.

With another exciting chapter set to be written in Essendon’s long-standing attachment to the ground, let’s reflect on some of Windy Hill’s most significant moments to date.

For the first time since 1991, elite football is back at Windy Hill!

The Bombers will play their first ever AFLW game at Windy Hill at 3:05pm on Sunday.

Essendon will face the Saints with an unchanged side from it's round one victory over Hawthorn.

Midfielder Maddy Prespakis is fit to play, after suffering a heavy knock in the third term at Frankston.

For all members with an access membership to AFLW games, you must redeem a free ticket via Ticketmaster to guarantee your entry into the game for round two.

AFLW members wanting to collect their membership items can visit a merchandise tent and pick up their keep cup and tote bag. Please ensure you have your QR code emailed to you ready to be scanned by our staff.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

There are multiple mobile food and beverage options located at various points in the ground.

For those looking for a more dine-in experience, the Windy Hill bistro will be open all day from 12pm to 8.30pm.

MERCHANDISE

Bombers fans can grab all the latest and greatest merchandise from the Bomber Shop,located inside both the Brewster and Raleigh Street gate. Members receive 10 per cent off each purchase, so make sure you have your member card handy to receive your discount.

PARTNERS AND ACTIVATIONS

There will be a little something for everyone inside the stadium on Sunday, so we recommend getting to the game nice and early to make the most of everything on offer.

Make sure you swing by the Kids Fun Zone to keep the whole family entertained pre-game. You can test your skills in the Fujitsu Warm Up Zone or hop on a bike to blend yourself a smoothie thanks to Liberty. You’re also able to put yourself through a fun obstacle course thanks to Coles Healthy Kicks.

You can then get your game-face on by visiting our friends at Toyota Forklifts for free facepainting!

There's plenty happening at Windy Hill.

There will be give aways from partners Toyota Forklifts, Palo Alto Networks, NEC, Liberty and Coles to make sure no-one goes home empty handed!

After you’ve worked up a big appetite in our Kids Fun Zone, make the most of the wide selection of foods in our food truck park. Alternatively, the Windy Hill bistro will be open from 12pm until 8:30pm so you can enjoy a sit-down meal.

Once you’re well fed, make sure you then check out the Fujitsu Measure Up Wall behind the Napier Street end goals, where you can compare your height to our superstars, Maddy Prespakis, Sophie Van De Heuvel, Brooke Brown and Bonnie Toogood.

We’ll also be looking for the best dancer in the crowd at quarter time, so be sure to be on your feet during the first break to win a $60 Bomber Shop voucher.

Toyota Forklift Four Kicks returns at three-quarter time, where one lucky contestant will take four shots on goal to win $100 Bomber Shop voucher.

Be sure to stick around post-game to have a kick on Windy Hill thanks to Maccas Kick to Kick once the second siren has sounded.

GETTING THERE AND ENTRY TO THE GROUND

There is limited street parking available around Windy Hill, so it is recommended that all patrons are use public transport to arrive at the venue. Windy Hill is only a short 650m walk from Essendon Station, which can be accessed via train, bus and tram. Make sure you plan your journey ahead of time to make sure you don’t miss the first bounce!

Bringing your own chair is not permitted at AFLW games, if you require a seat we recommend arriving early and finding a seat in the Reynolds or Cookson Stands.

Pets are not allowed inside the Windy Hill precinct on game day. If you have a service pet, please bring necessary documentation to ensure you and your pet are welcomed into the stadium.​

Looks like the same set up as the vfl.
Almost. They have a food truck in the Fitness club car park and a kids zone behind the bowls club and some extra toilets by the look of it.:)

Tuned in just in time for the Scott fend off and the Bannister mark, but we looked like we struggled to get the ball out of defence in spite of the score.

A couple of good contests from Gamble. Dropped a couple of sitters as well though.

Had our lapses during the Hawks game too. But our best footy goes up on the score board, hopefully.
