Mark Fxxn Keane you legend !

Hopefully a few people in here can open their Fxxxn eyes

I’d be embarrassed for wanting him dropped every week if I was you

Keane Worrell Laird Thilthorpe ( our best ) saved our arse

Our mids got flogged , we pinched one which maybe we were due to win one when we didn’t deserve it

Nicks is poor

Berry in early was huge though , he helped change momentum
Who wants him dropped every week? You made that up.

He had a great night. Have you acknowledged it when he hasn’t? Or when he’s made stupid costly errors?

Interesting how Butts taking their best forward allowed him to play more as an interceptor, now who was suggesting that move?

I cannot believe we won the free kick count. Feel like the umps destroyed a lot of momentum for us all night with crucial average calls. I just wanna sit through a game where our players don't get so sapped by such dubious calls that result in goals. Most obvious one was in the first qtr when SPP gets done clear htb and they get a free kick which results in a goal. Completely ruined some really good momentum we had.

In saying that, in addition we are also our own worst enemy at doing dumb shit. Laird 50m. Rankine 50m. Keays kick out of bounds. Every game we do very school boy dumb stuff that results in goals.

General thoughts

Port came to play after the first 5 minutes. Their two best players dominated imo (butters and Rozee). I said this game would be won in the midfield and was wrong, as their mids were on top for 75% of it.

On the other hand, we had some very average individual performances from key players, but our team play was pretty strong and this got us the win. Pressure good, contested stuff decent. We've got a better overall 22.

I feel like we paid a lot of attention to Horne. Some attention to butters (who was too good for what we did try). No attention to Rozee. It showed and almost won them the game

Good:

TT, Worrell and Peatling our best. The only ones to play well for most of it.

Fog played a default 2024/25 Fog game. Doesn't do much wrong. Competes really well consistently in the air now.

Keane much better the last two weeks. I was ready to drop him, but he has had two very different weeks.

Nankervis better.

Milera solid

Rachele okay but too quiet.

Bad:

Rankine. Was he involved in anything positive beside those two goals? A real nothing player for 3 quarters and was turning it over. He's had a really frustrating year imo. Not putting it together.

Dawson well held. Don't mind this as we gave other options now. We need tu plan better though as I'd just throw the guy forward or back for most of it. Bergman is a good match up in all three parts of the ground though so not sure if this would have worked very well. Coaching win against nicks here.

Hinge and Michalaney didn't provide anything.

Laird not much either and that 50 was terrible.

Soligo hitting a wall? Quiet again and looks out of form.

Tex really looks bad right now. I know we've written him off before, but he's actually old now.

Curtin struggled, but I don't really care. Persist.

Taylor no influence. Couple of good moments, but couldn't get involved.

Every week in here people want him dropped

It’s not personal and directed at you

But everywhere I look Bigfooty , twitter and Facebook absolute morons want him dropped

He stuck it up them again , he’s a gun player for us and right up there with in form players as key defender in comp

Maybe you should stop thinking every post is directed at you

Keane should have played on Georgiades too , would have kept him quieter

Has to be one of the worst analysis I’ve seen tonight 🤣

Rankine kept us in the game despite being down

The assist to Rachele at half time then the 2 goals in a row to give us the winning margin

We would have lost 3 more showdowns without him

CBA numbers

ROB - 25
Dawson - 24
Peatling - 21
Soligo - 20
Rankine - 10
Berry - 6
Rachele - 3
Thilthorpe - 2
Walker - 1

So basically just ran ROB, Dawson, Peatling and Soligo all night in the midfield and watched them get toweled up.

Port mostly ran with Bergman and Butters and then as their 3rd man spread it between Wines, JHF and Drew.
